I don’t know about you guys, but I have had a blast tonight!
There’s something about just coming together without any real agenda other than to spend time with one another
God BUILT us for relationships
We just learned about being made in the image of God last Sunday, and how a big part of that involves being built for relationships
Life is about relationships. Ministry is about relationships.
You know what that means? It is not enough to just share the Gospel. Something more has to be involved
There is a Gospel to be shared and a culture to be BUILT
You are a BUILDER.
Our purpose statement is that we exist to BUILD student disciples who BUILD student disciples
We are creating something
To be a part of Enon Student Ministry is like being a lego builder, being a civil engineer, being an artist, or being a content creator on YouTube or something
God has called us as a ministry to BUILD five specific things. And one of those things it so “”UNITE”
We are building unity and fellowship
Check out this verse:
1 Thessalonians 2:8 NLT
We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.
The Gospel is supposed to be lived out in our relationships with each other
And why do we do this? Because of what Christ has done for us.
We separated ourselves from God on account of our sin (which we’ll be talking more about on Sunday)
But the truth of the Gospel is that God came to share His life with us
In the midst of us cancelling God, Jesus came to hang out with us
He even went as far as to die for us, bearing the weight of our sin and shame
But He didn’t stop there! He rose again, cancelling over any power that death might hold on those who trust in Him
And now, when you truthfully accept Jesus into your life, there is fellowship between you and God at last
And because of what Christ has done for us, we extend kindness, love, and grace towards others.
There’s something powerful about UNITING together.
There is something powerful about spending time with each other
So embrace relationship! Spend time with Jesus; spend time with people. Share the love of Christ by having joyful times together.
