The creation

창세기 1:1–31 (The Message)

First this: God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see, all you don’t see.

There was nothing on the Earth . It was like nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, totally black.

God said “ let there be Light!”

And there was light . Light appeared as it was said.

God saw that light . It was good.

and separated light from dark.

God named the light Day,

he named the dark Night.

This is how we live in DAY and and Night.

and this is Day One.

God said: “Sky! In the middle of the waters;

separate water from water!”

God made sky.

And He separated the water under sky

from the water above sky.

And there it was:

he named sky the Heavens;

and this was Day Two.

On The Third day

God spoke to

Water-beneath-Heaven, “ gather into one place”

and then

Land, appeared!”

God named the land Earth.

He named the water gathered into one place Ocean.

God saw that it was good.

God spoke: “Earth, green up! Grow up!

Every sort of plants,

Every sort of fruit-bearing tree.”

Earth produced green seed-bearing plants, all varieties,

And all sorts of fruit-bearing trees.

God saw that it was good.

this was Day Three.

God spoke: “Lights! Come out!

Shine in Heaven’s sky!

Lights in the sky to give light to Earth.”

God made two big lights,

the larger is in charge of Day,

The smaller is in charge of Night;

and he made the stars as well.

God placed them in the heavenly sky

God saw that it was good.

This was Day Four.

God spoke: “Swarm, Ocean, Let there be many of fish and all sea life!

Birds, fly through the sky over Earth!”

God created the huge whales,

all the lives in the waters,

And every kind and every species of flying birds.

God saw that it was good.

God blessed them: “Prosper! Reproduce! Fill eheOcean and fill the Earth!”

This was Day Five.

God spoke: “Earth, generate life! Every sort and kind:

cattle and reptiles and wild animals—all kinds.”

And there it was:

God saw that it was good.

and then

God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them

reflecting our nature

So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea,

the birds in the air, the cattle,

God created human beings;

he created them godlike,

Reflecting God’s nature.

He created them male and female.

God blessed them and said

“Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!

God looked over everything he had made;

it was so good, so very good!
