recap the series yada yada

People Problems

We should seek to help people see Jesus, not judge them for all the ways that they aren’t
However, we cant take this too far and sometimes I think we have. we cant neglect helping our brothers.

Prayer

My biggest fear for us is not that we ask for a bunch of wrong things from God, although that can happen. My biggest feat is that we’re not asking him for anything at all. We’re not talking to him.
But Jesus is saying, if you need wisdom to help navigate life, ask. ASK - its a throwback to Proverbs, in the old testament.
But what about the opposite? what if we ask for bad gifts? what if we ask for a snake? will your father give it to you

A Principle

most of us know this verse right. Jesus is concluding this little section - and he really boils it down - if you cant remember everything that i’ve said - let me simplify it for you. Treat others how you would like to be treated.
But one note here that i think is interesting. Ya see, we often use this as a way to kinda settle everything down and to get things to go right for us? right? like if you have a problem with someone at school, just be nice to him and he’ll be nice to you back. Right? thats the golden rule. and while that might be a good solution, that is not what Jesus is saying here.
What Jesus is saying is - if you want to live as a member of the kingdom, if you want to live like me - than treat others like you want to be treated - NO MATTER WHAT - no matter how they treat you.
you arent able to do this
