Peter’s Confession, Jesus’ death, the Cost of Discipleship
To the point of Peter’s confession, the idea of Jesus’ Christology has been theorized, but now confirmed in Peter’s Confession. This prompts Jesus to a gag order on the disciples for the purpose of His commission.
- In other words, the confession of Jesus as Christ doesn’t line up with the social expectations of the office.
This then jumps into the Jesus’ “new way” of suffering. (For the purpose of life.)
