1. it is easy to get distracted by many things, necessary things, things that we are responsible for and miss Jesus.
it would have been the responsibility of the sisters to prepare food for the disciples, Jesus probably ate the food after she prepared it, but where is our focus?
do I go to work or make room for Jesus? is it an either or? of course not! do I spend time with my family or do I spend time with Jesus?
do I go to a meeting or do I spend time with Jesus?
Yes, Yes a thousand times yes!
What else can we give up?
can we give up part of our leisure time?
how much time do i waste or spend on my self that could be spent with Jesus?
2. What so easily distracts you ?
Luke 10:40 (NKJV)
40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone?
Therefore tell her to help me.”
what are somethings that distract you from the presence of God?
I know that I mentioned some, lets now take a moment of silence and ask the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct us to those things that we should give up that are going to cause a craving that is going to point back to Jesus ?
take a few moments to think about it.
3.
There is nothing more needful then to sit at the feet of Jesus.
all the things we strive for will one day end up in the cross trainers garage sale.
the pursuit of the flesh is for the moment, the pursuit of the spirit is for a life time.
I will eat diner tonight and be hungry tomorrow.
the clothes I wear today may not fit next week,
the things I do for God will last for eternity.
