Galatians 6:11–18 ESV
11 See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand. 12 It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13 For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. 14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15 For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. 16 And as for all who walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. 17 From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
Introduction:
Feral the Bobcat

The gospel must be emphatic.

Galatians 6:11 ESV
11 See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand.
Paul had a secretary who would wright what he said but in order that the readers would know that everything in the letter was from Paul he would pick up the stylus and close out the letter.
You can trust this account because Paul was commissioned as an Apostle of Jesus Christ. He was commissioned to write this letter by Christ himself. So that we you read the words of Paul in the letter you are directly reading the word of Christ.
Galatians 6:12–13 ESV
12 It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13 For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.

Religion apart from the gospel values the wrong thing.

Galatians 6:12 ESV
12 It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
As a church we must be careful not to put all our eggs in the wrong basket.
They counted circumcisions so that they could return to Jerusalem and tell them how man foreskins they were responsible for.
Christ hasn’t called us to make worship attenders.
Getting people to show up and fill this place up are good things. But please know that the great commission.
Just because people show up doesn’t mean they are following Jesus.
We must never think the great commission is go and make people religious.

We must measure our success by the mission Christ gave us.

Timothy George
The cross is the line of demarcation between the believer and the world.

The world rejects everyone who embraces the gospel.

But there is another side to this.

Christ rejects everyone who rejects the gospel.

The Gospel is about the new birth not religious works.

Look what it says
Galatians 6:14–16 (ESV)
14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
15 For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
16 And as for all who walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.

How can I become a part of God’s people?

I become a part of God’s people by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
