The Father's testimony
1 John 5:6-13 ~ The Certainty of God’s Witness:
• Jesus came by water and blood.
• The Spirit is testifying of the truth that Jesus died and rose again!
• In heaven ~ the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit bear witness ~ the three are one.
• On earth ~ the Spirit, the water and the blood agree. The Word and the Spirit agree.
• God’s testimony is much greater than man’s testimony.
• The Father’s Testimony is of His Son!
• When we believe and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior ~ the witness of Him is placed in our born-again spirit. Our spirit and His spirit are one ~ they agree!
• Believers believe the Father’s Testimony of His Son.
• Those who don’t believe the Father’s Testimony of His Son are calling Him a liar.
• The Father’s Testimony is that He’s given us eternal life and that eternal life only comes through His Son, Jesus Christ!
• God wants us to know what we have! He wants us to know & experience our relationship with the Father and the Son, here & now - and also in eternal life.
John 19:34-35
‘But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear and immediately blood and water came out. And he who has seen has testified and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe.’
Strong’s Concordance:

Jesus is the Word:
• John 1:1 ~ ‘In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.’
• John 1:14 ~ ‘And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.’
• Revelation 19:13 ~ ‘He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.’
Logos ~ the written Word of God and Rhema ~ the spoken Word of God
They bear witness together and always agree!
The bible is the inspired Word of God. Jesus is the Living Word.
1 Corinthians 6:17:
‘But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.’
Roman 8:16:
‘The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.’
Numbers 23:19:
‘God is not a man, that He should lie…’
John 14:6:
‘Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’
The Father’s Testimony is that He sent His Son – to save us, heal us and deliver us!
To redeem us and to reconcile us back to Him!
To pull us from the pit of hell & sin & death & evil and give us life ~ abundant life ~ eternal life!
The Father’s Testimony of His Son is given to us through His Word and His Spirit:
• John 20:30-31:
‘And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing; you may have life in His name.’
• 1 Corinthians 2:6-10: God reveals spiritual wisdom to us through His Spirit.
We decide which testimony we will agree with and believe in our heart:
• Adam and Eve chose to agree with the serpent.
• When confronted by that same devil in the wilderness, Jesus chose to align Himself with the Word of God.
• When dealing with physical symptoms we can choose to agree with the testimony of our body; the testimony of the doctor or with the testimony of the Word. As it is written, ‘By His stripes I was healed.’ ‘He sent His Word and healed me.’
• In dealing with difficult people, we can agree with the testimony of our feelings or the testimony of the Word. ‘It is written that I will forgive and pray for those who despitefully use me.’
• When dealing with financial challenges, we can agree with the testimonies of the bills and the bank account, or we can agree with the Word. ‘Because I have given cheerfully, God is making all grace abound to me that I might have all sufficiency in all things and an abundance for every good work.’
• When dealing with fear, we can agree with the testimony of our emotions, or we can declare, ‘It is written, God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.’
Let’s believe the Father’s Testimony and let it be exalted over any other!
