1 Corinthians 10:6–7 KJV 1900
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
1 Corinthians The Formative Warning: Models of the Exodus Israelites, the Corinthians and the Modern Church (10:1–13)

Great initial spiritual blessings are no guarantee of continuing divine favor (10:1–6).

Because God Blesses us when He saves us does not mean that He will continue to bless us if disobey Him.

1 Corinthians 10:5 KJV 1900
5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

The examples of most of the Israelites in the wilderness are bad examples for us to follow.

Numbers 11:1–6 KJV 1900
1 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp. 2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire was quenched. 3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the Lord burnt among them. 4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? 5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: 6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

God is a God of patients, but continual rejection of Him by sinning will cause Him to reject us.

1 Samuel 15:10–11 KJV 1900
10 Then came the word of the Lord unto Samuel, saying, 11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the Lord all night.

When God rejects us the favor of God is gone and no one can speak or pray for us.

1 Samuel 16:1 KJV 1900
1 And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth-lehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

God has Salvation for everyone, but that one that rejects it and keep sinning will lose with God.

Ezekiel 18:1–4 KJV 1900
1 The word of the Lord came unto me again, saying, 2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge? 3 As I live, saith the Lord God, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. 4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

We need to Believe the Word of God and live to His Glory, for His Promises are true.

2 Corinthians 1:19–20 KJV 1900
19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. 20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

We must have Faith in God and Obey His word.

1 Corinthians 10:6–7 KJV 1900
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

A lack of Faith and Disobedience can mean Death.

Jude 5 KJV 1900
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
