Peter’s walk through identity.
Simon had to see Jesus for who He was, Father revealed that to him.
When you see Jesus for who He really is then you can be told who you are.
Who do you say I am?
They all said some say you are Elijah some say a prophet.
You could say I was told you Jesus the one who loves me, the one who saves me.
Who do you say He is?
We say that He is good and loves us but we make decisions in our life like He loves someone else.
We say that He will never leave us but we make decisions like He has already left us.
We say that He has our backs, but we make decisions to protect ourselves every day.
We say that He is working with us, but we make decision to do this thing in front of us because we have to.
Someone has to do this because if we dont...
We say that He will give us strength but the first sign of trouble we want to quit already because we dont have what it takes to do this.
We say.
I confess that I have been saying with my actions one thing and with my mouth another.
I am done living from these hidden lies.
Who do you say He is?
One who has my back.
One who wont leave me.
One who trusts me.
Father is the one who reveals to us who Jesus is in our lives.
Blessed are you Simon...
Simon = on who hears, obeys, willing to bend...
Jonah = dove
You were the one who hears and bends the son of one who is like a dove.
“You are Peter, upon this rock...”
You are no longer on who hears and obeys dove like, you are a rock, a rock that is like me the rock and corner stone.
You are no longer on who is doubtful or not enough, you are one who is sure who I am and sure who you are.
“On this I will build My Church.”
On What?
On Father revealing to you who Jesus is and who you are.
Upon this sure thing that I am the anointed Son of God in your life and that you are Peter now...
Upon you knowing who I am and knowing who you are in me, on that I will build my church.
After this moment in Peter’s life Jesus continued to walk Peter down his identity journey.
He really got it at the beach when Jesus cooked him breakfast and asked if he loved Him.
Peter was standing in understanding of who Jesus was and who he was in Acts 2 when he boldly declared what was happening.
Peter was standing in understanding of who Jesus was and who he was when he wanted to be hung upside down.
Seeing and knowing Jesus for who He truly is and who you truly are is a big deal.
This is a big part of what Father is doing for and in humanity today.
“The gates of Hades will not overpower it.”
Hell is separation from God.
Understanding who He is and who you are will defeat all separation from God in your life and those you
Many people get a glimpse of who Jesus is and then they get tested or something bad happens.
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven”
These keys are what Jesus is giving out right now.
He is giving us many keys to lose and bind things.
He is giving us keys to free people from the hell they live in.
He is giving us keys to heal people from all kinds of suffering.
You see most people go after these keys to be somebody.
Most people think that if they have the keys then it proves they are good or enough.
I have seen this all my life, watching people trying get their identity out of what they do or the gifts they have.
Abundant Life has never been a good place to you keys or your gifts to get in or accepted.
The keys are the dessert or candy.
The meal or the meat is Christ’s identity and your identity.
Closing:
On this I will build my church.
When Jesus said this he meant on you knowing I am Christ and who that really is.
On you being called by your name and identity.
He will build is church on that revelation in your life.
Jesus is giving us keys of His Kingdom.
These keys are to lose and bind.
These keys are to free people, heal people, help people hear who Jesus is and who they are, help people walk into their true identity, fulfil their purpose...
Activation:
Who do you say Jesus is?
What does Jesus say you are?
Reach out and receive the keys He is giving us.
