The Passover and the Lord’s Supper
The Passover and the Lord’s Supper
Remembrance
1 Corinthians 11:24-25 And when he had
given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is
my body, which is for you. Do this in
remembrance of me.” In the same way also
he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This
cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do
this, as often as you drink it, in
remembrance of me.”
Hebrews 10:11-12 And every priest
stands daily at his service, offering
repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can
never take away sins. But when Christ had
offered for all time a single sacrifice for
sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with
Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ
who lives in me. And the life I now live in the
flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who
loved me and gave himself for me.
2 Peter 1:9 For whoever lacks these
qualities is so near-sighted that he is blind,
having forgotten that he was cleansed from
his former sins.

New Life
1 Corinthians 5:6-8 Your boasting is not good. Do
you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole
lump? Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be
a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For
Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let
us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old
leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the
unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Romans 7:4 Likewise, my brothers, you
also have died to the law through the body
of Christ, so that you may belong to
another, to him who has been raised from
the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for
God.

John 19:36 For these things took place
that the Scripture might be fulfilled: “Not
one of his bones will be broken.”
Colossians 2:11 In him also you were
circumcised with a circumcision made
without hands, by putting off the body of
the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ.
1 Corinthians 10:16-17 The cup of
blessing that we bless, is it not a
participation in the blood of Christ? The
bread that we break, is it not a
participation in the body of
Christ? Because there is one bread, we
who are many are one body, for we all
partake of the one bread.
