DECLARATION:

Ephesians 2:20–22 (ESV)

20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

SVCC is built by God, upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, and with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone.

We are joined together by union with Christ, we are growing, and we are a dwelling place of God by his Spirit.

THE ACTIVITIES OF A GOSPEL CENTERED COMMUNITY:

Acts 2:41–47 ESV

41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. 42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

The Continual Activities of the Early Church is given:

Learning

Fellowshipping

Eating

Praying

This would include both intercession as well as praise

Fearing

Luke 5:26 ESV

26 And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.”

“Fear” communicates a response to the holiness of God while “awe” shows amazement

Giving

This is a voluntary generosity of the believers

Witnessing

Conclusion/Reflection:

Do you need refreshing, then pick one of these activities and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you.

Communion - wait expectantly for God to do what He has promised
