INTRODUCTION:

ME:
I sat there visiting with another father and I felt like I needed to tell him about Jesus…but I froze. A thought came into my mind, “Simply tell him there is a God in heaven who loves him.” But instead of saying anything I whispered back, “I should build a relationship of trust with him before I say anything.” So I didn’t say anything…and I don’t know why I didn’t. Funny thing is, I wish I could say that was a couple of years ago…maybe I’ve grown in my faith, boldness and confidence - so I wouldn’t have an issue saying something.
This was just last week. Yeah…last week.
WE:
I’m sure some of you are thinking to yourself, “Pastor, you speak every week about God. You stand up there and proclaim his truth.” True, but this is a comfort zone. You’re here because you want to hear.
But there are others who are glad to hear what I just said about my own lack of sharing Jesus with someone. Honestly, I’m not proud of it.
But I’m sure that some of you would have done the same thing. You would have frozen.
Probably just in the last week you felt a tug in your heart to tell someone in the grocery store line, or perhaps while sitting in the waiting room at the doctors office…maybe when you ran into that old friend who hasn’t changed a bit since high school - they still talk about the same things and live the same life they lived then...
We’ve all felt that tug…that need to tell that individual standing in front of us that we need
