Intro:
TS: 9:8-10:4 is a poem which warns of great calamities sent by the Lord which had gone unheeded by Israel.
God had called them to repentance, He had disciplined them, He sent prophets, yet they persisted in their sin.
Notice the refrain which is repeated 4 times.
It is first found at the end of v 12

Assyria will destroy Israel but still they won’t realize it is the hand of the Lord doing it.

What a tragedy it is that we ignore God’s warning
God convicts, He disciplines, He calls us to repent
Yet sinful humanity shrugs it off
The Lord will Protect and Purify Israel
Someday, God’s remnant will return to Him and be forever restored.
