He Has Anointed Me

Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Isaiah 61:1-2 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; Because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all that mourn;”

Anointed

Preach the gospel to the poor

Sent me to heal the broken hearted

Preach deliverance to the captives

Recovering of sight to the blind

To set at liberty them that are bruised

To Proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord

Anointed - ability and authority of God

Preach the gospel to the poor.

Ptochos - dependent upon another for their very existence.

Nothing to commend themselves to God.

Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God - Matt 5:3

Humble and contrite of spirit - Isaiah 66:2

Broken and contrite heart - Ps. 51:17

Heal the broken hearted

Preach deliverance to the captives

Messiah will set prisoners free by paying their debt. Col 2:14

Redeemed by His blood - Eph. 1:7

Recovering of sight to the blind

The blind can see - 2 Cor. 4:4

To set at liberty them that are bruised.

Come to Him...Take His yoke.. Matt 11:28-30

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Salvation had now come
