CASTING ALL YOUR ANXIETIES ON HIM

Last week the Lord wanted us to learn about knowing His ways and being taught His paths

We discovered its the path for kingdom inheritance

Jesus really made it very direct and simple when He said these words

33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

And from last week we saw these words also from Matthew 6

10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.

So kingdom is what I’m seeking, also the inheritance that it has or I’m inheriting it as I am being taught His paths and knowing His ways.

What is in His kingdom, what am I a inheriting

First thing this is the Bible’s definition for kingdom

*Kingdom of God

*Royal power

*Dominion or rule

Not to be confused with an actual kingdom, but right or authority over a kingdom

I am inheriting the royal power, the dominion and rule

Important if I am being taught His paths and learning His ways

There’s more, this also comes along with inheriting, also still from Bible’s definition of kingdom

*of the royal power and dignity conferred on Christians in the Messiah’s kingdom

We are to be ambassadors for Christ, wherever we go we are on Holy ground, His territory......... as long as we keep desiring being taught His paths and knowing His ways

Israel’s wilderness journey always lays this out for easy understanding (GIVE EXAMPLE)

Also the inheritance blessings God gives us along the way seeking His kingdom

What happens if my path or my journey gets disrupted? What happens if I haven’t been seeking being taught His paths and knowing His ways. What happens if I have been seeking the world’s ways and not His kingdom?

That’s exactly how the enemy wants it, He comes to kill steel and destroy

the devil doesn’t want you to have royal power, royal dominion and have blessings and riches of kingdom inheritance

The enemy will throw every distraction at us to get us off path

This all can really be dealt with in a passage from 1 Peter

All these distractions, all these world influences, our human struggles get pushed into a big load of baggage called anxieties

Which brings us to today’s title message

Firstly the Lord lined this up perfectly with communion meal today......casting all these things on Him, because He cares for us.......important part of the Lord’s supper and all that He took upon Himself for us.

Secondly....you probably already noticed the balloons on our title slide........that sounds real tough, that has real grit for standing my ground in the kingdom.

The Lord chose that to show us anxieties are lofty things Eph 6-12 our battle is not with flesh and blood but with principalities and things of the air.....lofty things

A question we may all ask is “why do we have to have these anxieties, these distractions, the temptations, all these things that try to wreck my path with the Lord?

Two main reasons God gives for it

Deuteronomy 8:2 (NLT)

2 Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.

The good news is and why its called good news the gospel is that if we fail the test as they did in the Old Testament, He won’t kill off a whole generation for failing the test.

Between then and now we have the gospel of grace. Yes we still have the testing and what God allows the enemy to use in our lives as distractions today, but we have grace and the power of the Holy Spirit within

All these things most of the time are summed up as anxieties, because of grace can be cast upon Him or given to Him.

Remember in the apostle Paul’s ministry journey (all good and perfect?) the thorn in his side

So what do these anxieties do? I know many deal with anxiety on great levels to almost a point of panic and having a sort of paralyzing affect on us. Many times health problems can start from anxieties.

The enemy can crank these anxieties up through events such as “getting offended” , “disputes” , “insecurity issues”, “failure to forgive or let things go” sometimes just being to overwhelmed and busy instead of just taking time to worship or love on the Lord!

*fear of facing something

You can see how the examples I just gave before this can be used by the enemy and summed up in these 3 things

ANXIETY’S MAIN POINT IS TO.......

*cause worry, fear and restlessness

*push us out of alignment with God and to the world’s way of resolve

*produces pride instead of humbleness

To give these things to the Lord does not mean the outcome will be for what we wish, but confirms with God that He knows what we need more than what we think we need.

This also confirms seeking first the kingdom of God and all His righteousness and all else will be added to our lives.

What are some His ways and on His paths to help conquer these anxieties

Remember I said anxieties are what? Lofty things

Let’s take a look at what the Lord gave us in His word and Holy Spirit to have victory over these things

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.

5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

6 and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.

Every lofty thing that attacks us should always be put up for punishment and obedience to Christ and His word and power.

7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Laying everything before the Lord, laying it all out before Him, letting Him take over every desire will and emotion, He has the best outcome for us
