Vision Sunday
Vision Sunday
Robert Coleman said,
“Men were his method.”
I would rephrase that to say men and women are God’s method.
RCC has a great vision to be a part of God’s great plan to see the world changed and the answer lies right in this room. How is God going to see this vision accomplished it is through men and women.
One of my hero’s in the faith wrote a book titled, “come with me and change the world.” Today I want to ask something big from everyone in the room. But I am not asking you to be a part of this ask because I need it or RCC needs it. I am asking you to give your time, treasure and talent to RCC because I truly believe if you don’t you will miss out. I can promise you this if you join us on this journey you will not get to the end of your life saying I regret being a part of a church plant that wanted to have ENORMOUS impact.
When I was in Arkansas my college was close to the headquarters of Walmart, where it was founded. I met a guy who could have been an original investor. He regrets it to this day that he did not invest with Walmart. I don’t want you to regret not being a part of a life giving church that wants to change the world. As Bill Bright said, come with me and change the world.
Tony Campolo did a study with 50 people who were 95 years or older and asked them what they would have done differently if they could live their life again. Here were the main common themes:
Reflect
Risk More
Do more things that will live on after you live
Today we would be honored for you to join our team, to invest your time, treasure and talent.
Practical:
What are we asking. We want to be clear on what we are asking you to.
I am giving general guidelines because we want to guard against legalism.
So what I mean by this is we don’t want to pile on a bunch of stuff and see you dreading church.
