I. Suffering is part of this life. (6:1-8; John 16:33; Acts 14:21-22)
- White horse - Gospel conquest. (2)
- Red horse - Bloody persecution. (3-4; Matt. 24:9)
- Black horse - Economic hardship. (5-6; 13:16-18)
- Pale horse - Death (Hades). (7-8)
II. Suffering helps cleanse us.
- It calls us to examine ourselves.
- It prompts us to seek God. (Rom. 8:28)
III. Suffering is not the final word. (6:9-17; Ch. 7)
- God is with us. (7:3-10; Eph. 1:13-14; II Cor. 1:21-22; Rom. 8:16)
- God is still on His throne. (7:10-12)
- God will bring a new day without suffering. (7:13-17)
Our only hope: the blood of the Lamb. (7:14)
