ME
*Nashville Night Sky*
I grew up close to a big city, so when I looked up into the sky at night, all I saw was the glow from street lights.
*Charleston WV Night Sky*
When I lived in Charleston, WV, the landscape was different around me but it was still the glow of street lights when you looked into the sky.
*Lake Cumberland Night Sky*
But when I moved to Somerset, that all changed.
On a clear night sky, I can see stars all over the place.
And although I don’t look up near enough, it’s absolutely beautiful when I do.
God has created an incredible universe for us all to live in, and looking into the sky on a clear night reminds me just how incredible it is.

One in ten
one in hundred
one in thousand
by the tenth penny?
One in ten billion.
If I pulled that off, you would say "the game is fixed!"
I would say you're right... and so is creation.
WE
Think about this: if the amount any element on earth was change by a tiny percentage, we’d all be dead.
If the earth was tilted at a slightly different angle, we would either freeze or burn to death.
Scientists also estimate that an asteroid that is just 60 miles wide could destroy all life on earth.
Any one of these or many other things could have happened since Adam & Eve, but they haven’t.
We are still here, in this fragile existence of life on earth.
How is all this stuff held together?
Or maybe a better question is: WHO holds it all together.
GOD
The fact that we there is an intelligent designer of the universe is obvious when you just look outside.
There is an order and structure to everything that we
see- and don’t see- in the world.
But WHO is this designer of everything?
The Bible book of Colossians tells us clearly who that is...

Jesus created EVERYTHING
This poem says that firstborn stands in a unique family relationship with the invisible God.
Christ has always been and exists beyond the limitations of finite creation.
Jesus has always been and God the Father created everything that exists through Him.
If you want to see what God is like, look at Jesus.
If you want to know what humans were intended to be like, look at Jesus.
And then Paul continues in this poem, saying not only did Jesus create everything, He made a way to bring fallen humanity back to God.
He’s the glue that restores the relationship with God.
And with everyone in this world trying to find purpose, Paul says that humanity locates its purpose and function in him.
Your identity isn’t found in that person you’re dating.
The clothes you’re wearing, your sense of humor or your intelligence.
YOUR IDENTITY IF FOUND IN JESUS CHRIST.
Those without a relationship with Christ do not have their identity yet...
This Jesus who created everything in existence, wants you to place your trust in Him, because He knows that when His Spirit is within you, then you will be who you were made to be.
JESUS CREATED EVERYTHING, SO I CAN TRUST HIM WITH ANYTHING.

WE
What if we all learned to give everything in our lives over to this Jesus who made everything?
There would be healing and hope in a world that is lost and hurting.
Kids would come to this church and hand all their worries and problems over to Jesus because they’ve seen us do it.
And Jesus would heal the brokenness in so many lives all because we made the decision to let Him handle the things we can’t
How awesome would that be?!
