Introduction

81.6% of Americans in 2001 claimed to be christian by 2020 that number was down to 65% (Pew Research Center)
The world has begun to take the “my truth” stance
The church should respond like Paul did towards the Colossian people in particular the church

Colossian Heresy

Colossian society even the church began to take up “Philosophy”.
Colossians was written as a response to this false teaching
Paul lays out how a christian should respond to this false teaching

Our Responsibility

A Christians Job is to Go and to Show
The most dangerous thing we can do is falsely represent Christ
Understand that you are a leader and don’t wait around for someone else to take the first step (God uses the unqualified Moses, Paul, David, etc.)

Principles to Apply

Being Rooted means to be entrenched in the faith (By surrounding ourselves with firm believers and staying educated in God’s word)
Built Up
Established in the Faith (Established in this context means confirmed in the faith)
Overflowing with gratitude (Consistently showing joy in Christ and his word)
