Mark 12:41-44

Theme: The Servant Teaching
Key verse: v.27
44 verses; 1058 words
Grade level: 4.7
1. Cruelty. vs.1-12
2. Craftiness. vs.13-17
3. Condemnation. vs.18-40
4. Contribution. vs.41-44
Carnal philosophies on giving:
God wants you to give privately. (churchy)
God wants you to give what you can when you can. (worldly)
Churches just want your money. (lost)
As we look at these philosophies we want what the Bible says, not what carnal people by majorities all agree on.
Here we have two ACTIONS concerning Christ and giving.

I. What The Lord is Watching. vs.41-42

He watches the prosperous. v.41
41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
He watches the poor. v.42
42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
Here we have two ACTIONS concerning Christ and giving.
I. What The Lord is Watching. vs.41-42

II. What The Lord is Wanting. vs.43-44

It is not an amount. v.43
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
It is not an abundance. v.44
44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
Conclusion:
The temple has moved: you are now the temple.
Christ is still in the temple watching and wanting you!
