Living in Exile - Part 1: Identity

Big Idea: We don’t have what it takes to live in exile. But God does.

How we mess it up:

We don’t settle in at all.

We merge with the culture.

Error 1: Not settling in at all:

Staying aloof from non-Christians.

Bubble Mentality

Inflexible discipleship, prone to break.

Arrogance, Legalism, and Self-Focus

Error 2: Merging with the culture:

That’s too extreme for me.

Accepting ideas without checking them.

Struggle to pursue discipleship.

Compromise, Apathy, and Self-Focus

Either way, we have lost our identity.

The only way to faithful living is through relationship.
