A. Ascension

i. Mt. Hermon

-Where the lesser elohim touched ground when they fell to earth in Gen. 6 (1 Enoch 6:1-6)

-known as “the gates of hell”

-Mountains are the seat of the gods in all ancient civilizations, including the Israelites

ii. Mt. Zion

-known in Hebrew as the “mount of the assembly”

-Mt. Zion is a title given to Jerusaelm

Isaiah 40:22 ESV

It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;

-God gave Moses as a divine blueprint of heaven to model the tabernacle after.

-Because ancient Israelites had the sky as a picture of what heaven was like, they created the tent in such a way that it was like a mosaic of the night sky, of the heavens.

“In other words, the heavens and earth were concieved of as Yahweh’s true tabernacle or temple. The earthly dwelling place erected by the Israelites mimicked the grand habitation of the cosmos,”

B. Armagedon

i. Zechariah 12:9-11

And on that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn. On that day the mourning in Jerusalem will be as great as the mourning for Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.”

ii. Revelation 16:12-16

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east. And I saw, coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs. For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty. (“Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”) And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

-The word Armagedon in the Greek has an “h” at the beginning of the word, har= mountain

-har’moed= “mount of the assembly”

“Armagedon is about the unbelieving nations, empowered by the anti-Christ, empowered by the prince of darkness — Lord of the dead, prince Baal, Beelzebul — will make one last, desperate effort to defeat Jesus at the place where Yahweh holds council, Mount Zion, Jerusalem,”
