At that very hour some Pharisees came and said to him, “Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you.”
The Pharisees seldom get good press in the New Testament; but accounts of them aren’t always negitive
Luke (in Acts) also presents a very positive portrayal of Gamaliel
But a Pharisee in the council named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, respected by all the people, stood up and ordered the men to be put outside for a short time.
So in the present case, I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone; because if this plan or this undertaking is of human origin, it will fail;
but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them—in that case you may even be found fighting against God!” They were convinced by him,

Jerusalem is a city in which and for which God has done so much. Yet the city has a reputation for bringing the demise of prophets and messengers from God.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!

He sustained him in a desert land, in a howling wilderness waste; he shielded him, cared for him, guarded him as the apple of his eye.
As an eagle stirs up its nest, and hovers over its young; as it spreads its wings, takes them up, and bears them aloft on its pinions,
Guard me as the apple of the eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings,
How precious is your steadfast love, O God! All people may take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
May the Lord reward you for your deeds, and may you have a full reward from the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge!”

God is always willing to work in the lives of his willing people.
What would God do in the lives of his people, if only they were willing?
What would God do in the life of his church, if only we were willing?
How would God change the world, if only the world was willing?
