Unforgiven
Forgiven
70 x 7 = 490
Does this mean we stop at 490 times.
Absolutely not.
We keep on forgiving.
Imagine if God just said “I have forgiven your 490 times, thats your limit, thats all you get.
Its like a Deal or no Deal.
God says you can become a Christian and stay a Christian if you can sin less than 490 times.
Thankfully He is not like that.
Wouldn’t work out.
But instead HE is a forgiving God.
King ends up showing forgiveness in this passage
The King shows kindness and says OK I will forgive you of your debt.
We see this kindness here, and how we should be.
But then what does the servant do
He takes the kindness for granted.
We can not God’s Grace for Granted
But why does Peter ask this question?
We need to look back a few verses.
Accountability
This is what happens when a fellow servant sees this.
He said listen I forgave you and you couldn’t even do the same for someone else.
2 Types of Forgiveness
2 Types of Forgiveness that we see today.
The first is I forgive you and then you do it again, and you say I forgive you and then you do it again.
Or you constantly bring it up.
The second is the I forgive you and that’s the end of it.
The second is brought from this scripture
Forgiveness from the Heart
Be Genuine when forgiving someone.
Don’t just say it to say it.
