In this verse Paul asks that Titus would come to him once artemas comes to Crete.
Artemas would likley stand in the place for Titus while he was gone, or perhaps replace him if he didn’t return for some reason.
Here we see two more names.
these two were goign to be the ones responsible to take the letter to Titus.
Why do you think that Paul and Titus needed people such as this to aid them?
They had a lot of people aiding them, many who are not even mentioned in scripture.
Apollos for example, which is mentioned here was only mentioned in scripture twice but he was a powerful preacher who, just as Paul and Titus had devoted their life to sharing the gospel.
Here is where the use of so many people is especially useful.
Paul tells Ttius that “Our people need to learn to maintain good works”
What he was saying is that even though they have people like them that are going around and sharing the gospel they have to be fruitful through their good works.
A good part of this can be that they would help each other.
How do you think they could help each other in maintaining a pattern of good works?
How m do positive friendships help you to be fruitful Christians?
Just as Paul we have to have a group of people whoa re committed to sharing the gospel truth, not just one,
We have to be willing to put each other in line.
We have to be willing to help each other grow.
Why do you think people, even Christians always want to journey this life alone?
Once again Paul closes by talking about the people who have devoted their life to the gospel, his friends and comrades
We kind of see here that Paul found a lot of importance in not doing this on his own.
You see for this aperticular verse Paul was telling Titus to greet the Christians at Crete from him and his team.
It seems as though Paul had a special relationship with those christians, even though they had become confused about the truth.
Do you think that we should give up on Christian friendships at the first sign of mistake?
Mistakes happen, we asre sinnersm therefor we are going to sin.
The true question that needs to viewed is, where is the christians heart at.
Paul oppoerated with grace and sternness.
He was willing to realize that mistakes would be made but he was also wise enough to correct thos mistakes.
In our family of God that is a wise way to operate.
Mistakes will be made, however we have to make sure that we direct and lead properly.
