22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Do not think of God as grudging! It is your Father’s good pleasure to give. Nothing delights Him more than to be able to “give good things to them that ask Him.” For Him also “it is more blessed to give than to receive.” Remember that the best investments are those we store, not in banks, etc., but in the lives of others: for God Himself guarantees the interest.

Take no thought - do not be anxious
dont be overwhelmed
Dont worry about the basics of life
This is teaching us the nature of the Kingdom
not worry
not fretting
not fearing
not anxiety
If you are anxious
fearful
fretting
you are not
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
In the Kingdom of God it is operating in
these concepts
Power - resurrection power of the New Life
Love - God so loved that He gave
Sound mind -
Surely such a chain of arguments must have proved irresistible! God’s soldiers must be brave and unflinching in meeting the opposition of the world. When once we realize that the stores which reside in God are at the disposal of our faith, we, too, shall be invulnerable and irresistible.

Without faith it is impossible
Total faith in God

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Isnt it like the world to worry about the things we have, work, etc
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Most worry comes from what is going to happen tomorrow
God gives us grace for today to handle today’s evil
The testimony of the Lord is sure - day by day provisions
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Consumed by worry, anxiety,
God didn’t save you so you could live a life of worry and fretting around
I love that song Great is thy Faithfulness
Consumed = devoured, devastated, arrested by circumstances
In a day when the Babylonians empire was destroying the Israelites
If you cant trust God, it will lead you to do things that are so despicable
God will take care of you when you trust Him
God is Faithful
New every morning
Each day has it’s own trials, but God’s mercies and compassions will be new and available to those who trust Him.
Every day you will face a challenge
there will be difficulties
but there will be mercy

and power

God’s mercy is not for yesterday, but today

You will face hurts - But God has you
You may not face earth shattering things
But one day you will face earth shattering things - God has you
God will take care of you
Terrible news will come one day
When death knocks on your door
When a job is lost

The what if’s of tomorrow are not taken care of by today’s resources
Today’s mercies are not enough for tomorrow, it must be renewed
God’s compassions are new every day.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
God just took away any excuse and reason for worry
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Let the peace of God rule
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
rule means to officiate
The official calls when someone is out of bounds

You have to let it, it’s your responsibility
The Spirit of peace is in you

3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee.
You dont really believe He’s in control when you worry
1. Our Worry is a failure to understand His Sovereign Love
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
You are a conqueror when you understand His love
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
2. Our Fret is a Failure to Accept His Sovereign Care.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
God gave His Son to you.
God wants to help you
How can we be anxious
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Casting after you humble yourselves
You get eaten by Satan when you worry
Faith = Trust
Some of us continue to go through our trash in our life
Casting your cares - not inspect them, not organize them - cast them
The garbage men do not bring our garbage home
3. Our Fear is a Failure To Understand God’s Vast Resources
But my God
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread.
God cares for His children
4. Our Worry is a Failure to Understand the Promises of God.
20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
All persons of the Godhead are there to meet our needs
I have some promises from God in which God is the only one that can do it.
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
God’s promises must be fulfilled
God cannot lie.
There is no part in God’s nature that allows him to lie
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
Some worry about a tithe or giving - not worried
Do your friends encourage you in the promises of God
5. Our Anxieties Point to our Misunderstanding of God’s Priorities.
My children are my priority
You are God’s children
How much more are you a priority
You are on the top of His list
