Have you ever considered the question, what on earth am I here for?

There is one of the greatest questions we ask ourselves… what are we here for, what is our purpose here on ole planet earth.

Beyond our life, work, family and those other things that we enjoy our ultimate purpose is to know and love our Lord Jesus.

But there is a problem…

Our nature, our sin… it leaves us unable to know or experience God apart from His help.

Think about light and darkness.

Think about light and darkness and the way they affect your ability to see.

In the dark, we have no sense of direction or courage to move forward, because we cannot see, we are really guessing, hoping we make it safely in the right direction.

So what do we need?

We need light...

The same is true about our spiritual life… we naturally walk in darkness and we need help

We need Jesus.. Jesus is the light...

Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world; the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life” (John 8:12).

Did you hear that… the one who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

So Jesus is the means by which we are able to see and walk safely, to maneuver in a world that seems to harsh at times.

So with Jesus we have the ability to know Him, be a good husband and good father, a food employee, a good citizen and most of all, we can be a good Christian.

This checks all the boxes about our life.

So do you want to life in the light or do you want to live in darkness

If you follow Jesus, if you invite Him into your heart you have passed from death/darkness to light/life

It’s the good news that can transfer someone from spiritual darkness to light (Colossians 1:13).

Those who have trusted Jesus as Savior are now “children of light” (Ephesians 5:8).

God calls each of us to come and know Him...

And if you say He never called me… Well He is tonight. this very word is for you. come and know the one who is light and life.
