In this life there are seasons for everything...
Eccl. 3

3 To everything there is a season,

A time for every purpose under heaven:

2 A time to be born,

And a time to die;

A time to plant,

And a time to pluck what is planted;

3 A time to kill,

And a time to heal;

A time to break down,

And a time to build up;

4 A time to weep,

And a time to laugh;

A time to mourn,

And a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones,

And a time to gather stones;

A time to embrace,

And a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to gain,

And a time to lose;

A time to keep,

And a time to throw away;

7 A time to tear,

And a time to sew;

A time to keep silence,

And a time to speak;

8 A time to love,

And a time to hate;

A time of war,

And a time of peace.

We see that there’s a time for peace, however there’s a time for war. We may not like it, but as believers we were brought into a war. A war for our own souls and those around us. We want badly to be the sheep, but in these last days our God is raising up Lions!

The Attack...

1 Sam. 30

30 Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire, 2 and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way. 3 So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive.

The Amalekites came to David’s camp in their absence and raided it. They took all their wives, sons, and daughters. They burnt their camp to the ground.
How many of us could say that the enemy has breached our own camp and taken those that we love. The enemy has taken our finances, our health, our joy, our peace of mind, and this list just goes on and on.

They mourned their losses...

1 Sam. 30

4 Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep. 5 And David’s two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite, had been taken captive. 6 Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.

David and his men wept until they had no more strength to weep! They mourned over their losses. The question we have to ask is…Have we??? It’s not like we just lost them and one sweet day the devil will just give them back to us. We must fight or they’ll be destroyed in hell! We must become the lions we were meant to be.

Game On...

1 Sam. 30

7 Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. 8 So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”

And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

Even in the O.T. God is not willing that should perish! David asked the Lord what they should do? He said PURSUE and you will overtake them and recover ALL! In these last days our time of mourning and grieving over our losses is coming to a close. There is a Lion inside of you that is longing to take back what has been stolen from you.
David and his men had nothing more than God’s word to trust in, and they went! How long will we set with full knowledge of God’s word and His desire and do nothing with it?

Graced with time...

2 Peter 3:8,9
2 Peter 3:9 NKJV
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
Because in this N.T. era our Lord hasn’t changed, He’s still not willing that any should perish we are living in a time of grace. Let us not take these days for granted, let us work as unto the Lord!

Remember who you are...

Philippians 4:13 NKJV
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Remember the One that has went before us, who gave it all so that we could be saved. Let us not remain distracted. Remember His example...
Hebrews 12:1–4 NKJV
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.
You may feel like the 200 of David’s men who were just exhausted and couldn’t finish the trip. They had already travelled 80 miles before the pursuit of the enemy. You may feel worn our and wonder what’s the use anymore. Get up and fight! There’s a Lion inside of you and He’s equipped you for this fight. Get up and fight!!
2 Corinthians 10:1–6 NKJV
Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you. But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
