Equipping the saints

The CORE of equipping is knowing God knowing the scriptures!!
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NASB95)
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NASB95)
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.
living in the rality of the scriptures having seen and known what God can and will do seeing in the supernatural is being equipped
Knowing God and what he can and is able to do.
With us, in us, and through us.
as an opening scripture Leads read Isaiah
Isaiah 55:8–9 NASB95
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.
THrough out the whole scripture we see that Gods ways are not mans ways. and that God is not looking for the perfect people, nor the strong, smartest or best. God looks for hearts that are fully committed to him.
2 Chronicles 16:9 (NASB95)
9 “For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.
When God is Equipping us and preparing us he prunes us and sharpens us over and over, and we feel like cheese being peeled. It hurts as he brakes us we have to admit it. Its hot in the oven with God but its worth every cut and every pain.
Proverbs 25:4 NASB95
4 Take away the dross from the silver, And there comes out a vessel for the smith;
2 cor 4:7
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
The core of being equipped is knowing God in a personal way. Knowing we are early vessels God wants and desires to fill and use for his purposes. GOD WANTS TO USE YOU!!
Parables of working for a company - ***
When We cry out HERE IM I use me.. we think the first thing God does is send us in a mission - but it is then God grabs the peeler and starts the process. Getting us ready - Personal stories ?
up on the mointain.. God let me die, take me home please I cant do this. and yes.. God killed me..in a form of being able to stand in a pulpit and do the work of ministry .
Living in the reality of God. My ways are not your ways!
more stories.
Raven bread and answered prayers… miracles and the supernatural.
turning pages Jeremiah 1.4-9
Jeremiah 1:4–9 NASB95
4 Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.” 6 Then I said, “Alas, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, Because I am a youth.” 7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak. 8 “Do not be afraid of them, For I am with you to deliver you,” declares the Lord. 9 Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
Knowing where ever you go, whatever you do you are not alone.
You have the tools that you need, available to you at the moment you need them.
When we are placed correctly in God and God has pruned and peeled us -The Holy spirit distributes the gifts needed for us to do the work of ministry.
But understand this often it takes us stepping out first on the water in order to see If God is in it..
Serving God is often as walking on water!
Remember Peter?
Jesus, Jesus is this you? If this is you tell me to come to you!
Leads read the scripture
Jesus Walks on Water Matthes 14… (Mark 6:45–52; John 6:16–21)
22Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowds. 23After He had sent them away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone, 24but the boat was already fara from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25During the fourth watch of the night,b Jesus went out to them, walking on the sea. 26When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost!” they said, and cried out in fear.
27But Jesus spoke up at once: “Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”
28“Lord, if it is You,” Peter replied, “command me to come to You on the water.”
29“Come,” said Jesus.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the strength of the wind,c he was afraid, and beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and took hold of Peter. “You of little faith,” He said, “why did you doubt?”
32And when they had climbed back into the boat, the wind died down. 33Then those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God!”
Gods plans with us are so out of our thought patterns - we try to build big, and we are so tempted to measure success by size!
Lets take a look at Gods plans with Gideon we have all read this story so often
Gideon and the midenites.
Gideon was threasing wheat in the winepress when an angel appeard
Judges 6:11–15 NASB95
11 Then the angel of the Lord came and sat under the oak that was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite as his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press in order to save it from the Midianites. 12 The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior.” 13 Then Gideon said to him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.” 14 The Lord looked at him and said, “Go in this your strength and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent you?” 15 He said to Him, “O Lord, how shall I deliver Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.”
God sees us not as we see ourselves!
Being equipped is knowing its about God and what God can do
not about us and what we can do.
KNOWING THE GREATNESS OF GOD
Gideon sees himself as young, weak and inaffective, but the Lord calls him mighty man.. Being equipped is not being occupied withour own reflection,- but the reflection of God in us.
IN christ we are neew creation
Ephesians 4:24 NASB95
24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
We need to clothe ourselves in the new man - equipped for every good work
2 Timothy 3:16–17 NASB95
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
All these stories are there to teach us and to equip us with this truth.
Gideon Engaging in warfare
It is quite a story how God leads Gidoen and his army I know you have read this many times and heard this story so often, but you may not have heard the numbers involved
Gideon had an army of 32.000 and Midianites army 135.000
outnumbers 8:10 outnumbered more than 4 to 1. Gideon
your fighters are to many! Judges 7:2
Judges 7:2 NASB95
2 The Lord said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give Midian into their hands, for Israel would become boastful, saying, ‘My own power has delivered me.’
Send away all who are fearfall and affraind and Gideon was left with 10.000 in his army. Outnumbers 13 to 1
only those that leapt the water like dogs were chosen. those that were vulnerable for attacks and not on guard. .
Judges 7:4–7 (NASB95)
4 Then the Lord said to Gideon, “The people are still too many; bring them down to the water and I will test them for you there. Therefore it shall be that he of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go with you; but everyone of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”
only those that leapt the water like dogs were chosen. those that were vulnerable for attacks and not on guard. .
5 So he brought the people down to the water. And the Lord said to Gideon, “You shall separate everyone who laps the water with his tongue as a dog laps, as well as everyone who kneels to drink.”
sword and shields to the ground while drinking.head into the water. not kneeling and not on alert. not redy to pick up the weapons.
6 Now the number of those who lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, was 300 men; but all the rest of the people kneeled to drink water.
7 The Lord said to Gideon, “I will deliver you with the 300 men who lapped and will give the Midianites into your hands; so let all the other people go, each man to his home.”
only 300 men got through the test. They were outnumbered 450 to 1
can you picture… those that gideon Sent home?
Gideon is going to war with 300 weak, untrained and vulnerable men against 135.000 of the midianites army.
God stregthened Gideon by showing him - that God was with him!
But God with Gidon created a surprice attack that threw fear and confusion into the camp of the medianites and confusion.
Just this little story illustrates how different Gods ways are from our views and our plans.
Here is a thought.... Do we sometimes ignore strange thoughts and ideas because we think they are to far out? To strange. to big, to small. unimportant.
Being equipped is a journey like building a house from lego bricks one brick and experience at a time.
Been there done that, do it again God.
EQUIPPING
Ephesians 4:11–14 NASB95
11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
THe word used here for EQUIPPING IS Katartizo that means mending broken bones! actually it means takin an open bone break flesh wiht bones sticking out butting it back in and mending it. verse 12
to restore the broken
Mark 1:14-20 “16 As He was going along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” 18 Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. 19 Going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets. 20 Immediately He called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went away to follow Him.”
Come follow me…
Notice what Jesus found Simon and andrew doing… Casting the net.
notice what he finds James and john doing.. MENDING THE NET
ig debaits.. evangeism discipleship.. caled eveangelist… diference?
both part of the same process.. if you are a disciple.. you are automatically an evangelist,, ot special this this..
Simon and andrew casting the net.. James and jon Mending the nets..
Discipleship or Equipping the saints for ministry.
lets talk about this casting in and drawing in.. and mending pull them in and mend them.
as your casting the net.. we are not calling peoople to follow us. part of the whole tragedy.. last decades years leadership saying I got this follow me.. When the fact is we only have on leader and his name is Christ Jesus we are to follow him called to follow
Jesus summits may us to the front bt we are still following him we are followers of Christ that is an identity.. the five fold gifts are nto our identity its our functions. .
Lets be clear.. how are we evangelising. Casting the nets out there. to bring in.. what are we bringing in.. we have this idea we are casting Jesus out there fishing… showing and telling about Jesus.. the problem is every religious tribe.. has an understanding before we cast any net.. Jesus was allready there.. did you catch this… JESUS IS ALLREADY THERE!!!!! HE IS THERE:
Jesus did not just arrive when you showed up to the scene.
Jesus was allready there in that persons life!
How many of you here know that Jesus was at work in you, long before you gave your life to him.
We need to change our mindset and turn aside and be open to see Jesus in the people around us and then help them draw him out.
Jesus is always ahead of us.... sometimes we can turn our “evangelism around… What is Jesus doing in you, can we pull the story of God out of the people we meet and bring jesus to the surface?
Bring into converstation cast the net and point to what Jesus is doing before they realise it. Go has been with you,, introduce them to Jesus in them.. Casting the net…
But discipleship..
once Christ has beeen called out and awakened in their lives then
there is what discipleshsip
Is Christ formation.. formation of Christ in us… In Christ 164 times in the bible.. Christ forming in us.. the early Christian church alter ipsay IA the real way Christ forms in us. Little Christ.. Alter ipsay..
Think about this everytime you read the word Equip the saints
EQUIP the saints.. the word equip Katartitzo the greek word that means mend the nets. That is what discipleship is.. to mend the nets
Katartitze er samset orð sem þýðir tengja saman restore endurreysa
fit together.. join.. take broken limbs and katattitzo join them together again Repair restore, refit, adjust. so everything works in the right relationships togheter
Koinonia Community and Katartitzo.. belong together part of the same indevitual yet
Think of Koinania as a piace in a quilt.. every patch is different. uniqi. but all sown togeter katartitzo and sewn into one piece.
Koinonia is a Greek word that occurs 20 times in the Bible. Koinonia’s primary meaning is “fellowship, sharing in common, communion.” The first occurrence of koinonia is
Acts 2:42, “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Christian fellowship is a key aspect of the Christian life. Believers in Christ are to come together in love, faith, and encouragement. That is the essence of koinonia.
advancing .
Ephesians 4:11-12 “11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;”
Still talking about equiping.. knitting together but how do we knit.. ??
we do that with the scriptures.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”
World english bible says.. “that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

What Is Restoration?

Restore – NT:2675‎katarti/zw ‎katartizo (kat-ar-tid’-zo); from NT:2596and a derivative of NT:739; to complete thoroughly, i.e. repair (literally or figuratively) or adjust:
The word translated “restore” has several meanings, all of which help us understand how to restore someone who has been caught in sin:
Setting a broken bone. We should be helping to reduce pain and promote healing and rehabilitation.Mending a fishnet. We should repair torn relationships in order that they might be returned to useful service.
Refitting a ship after a difficult voyage. We should fix the damage, restock the supplies, and prepare the vessel for its next voyage.
To mend what has been broken; to repair; to fix or adjust; to arrange or put in order; to strengthen, complete, to make one what he ought to be
1 Peter 5:10 “10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.”
Jesus and the samaritan woman
Jesus saying give me water… serve me.. little did she know.. while she served him Jesus was pulling up from her heart..
John 4:7 “7 There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.””
john 4:29 “29 “Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it?””
This is what happens when Jesus gets a hold of us - he immediatly starts to equipp us and draw from the deep parts of our beings.
and get this sometimes the filt and failures are drawn to the top to bring healing and restoration to us!
You have had 5 men - and the one you have now is not your husband!
Is that a sweet candy covered prophecy ?

night on the mountain.... God O know another one that went to the mountain crying to God…
1 Kings 19 “1 Now Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. 2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me and even more, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.” 3 And he was afraid and arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. 4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree; and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take my life, for I am not better than my fathers.” 5 He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, there was an angel touching him, and he said to him, “Arise, eat.” 6 Then he looked and behold, there was at his head a bread cake baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again. 7 The angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, “Arise,…”
WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE ELIJAH… slap in the face.. stop feeling sorry for yourself and pick up your mantle…
Jesus walks and sees simon peter and.. Fisher men…Matthew?’?
then he continues to walks and finds the equippers… we need the whole counsil of God not just missionarys..
Mending the nets er ekki bara fyrir the ministry gjafir… equipping er fyrir the whole body.. mending or HEALING THE BODY!!!!!
The Apostolic creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Look at that.. Communion of the saints
We equip each other aswell
Maybe The truth is we are not good friends, we are to buy with our own things and building our own castles.

New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (Chapter 2)
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.”The Ingathering37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, awhat shall we do?”38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.39 “For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!”41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand asouls.42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and ato prayer.43 Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.44 And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common;45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Who was adding to them???? The Lord added.

What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up

the framework of the equipping
We need to be equipped in a way that is going to empower you to operate in your sphere and your measure of rule. at a level you might not think would be possible for you.
I am not saying you are going to prophecy over every one… but that you will discover that the presence and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are present all the time.
Prophetic function and ministry is so much bigger than that. Prophetic , intuation, prophetic imagination. prophetic insight, prophetic forsight

Broken bones - sowing the net equipping and connecting the body
Elija died
2Kings 13:20 “Elisha died, and they buried him. Now the bands of the Moabites would invade the land in the spring of the year.”

Elisha died, and they buried him. Now the bands of the Moabites would invade the land in the spring of the year.

21 As they were burying a man, behold, they saw a marauding band; and they cast the man into the grave of Elisha. And when the man touched the bones of Elisha he revived and stood up on his feet.

A dead prophets bones, gave a man his live back.
the bones, the skeleton, the framework, the core.
Touching the bones, gave that man, a new life, new hope, new future!
God is taking us back to the story, back to the bones to be revived, refreshed, reformed and renewed. for our passionate pursuit of the glory of God.
Are we sometimes too "focused" on growing numbers, when God is may just be looking for a few committed ones?
Some of you may have noticed the slogan of my ministry. "Changing lives - touching nations - one person at a time." All my ministry started with the one and still most of my ministry is one on one.
When we are always looking for numbers, we overlook the people right by our side, or right in front of us as we are always trying to see the bigger picture. and we wait and wait and wait...
and miss the voice of the Lord saying "build with what you have, use what is in your house, be faithful with what God has put in your hands and multiply it! "
But sir I have nothing but a jar of olive oil..... But sir I was going to bake my last cake and then go die..... Gideon, I want a smaller army go tell them to go home I just need 300 weak vulnerable men that cant fight 📷
God has never built as man does. God has never been worried about lack. What God looks for are people that can focus on him and walk in obedience. Our God is a miracle God that can stop the sun and moon, put a coin in a fish mouth, multiply the loaves and fishes don't put your focus on what is missing. Focus on God and what he is willing to do with you when your heart is fully committed to him!
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him! 2 chron 16:9
