Ephesians 2:8-10 Saved By Grace Unto Good Works

Many Are Confused on the role of Works in Faith

How and to What Are We Saved?

Faith is a gift from God
We are his workmanship
Ordained to walk in good works
We are not saved by good works, but for us to perform good works. We should walk in good works. We should have a lifestyle that is filled with good works.
We do not do a good work and pat ourselves on the back! For we were specifically designed by God through Jesus Christ to do such works. We cannot boast in doing what we were designed to do.
What are these good works?
Good works are not just limited to worship, gospel ministry, church time, mission trips
But in all parts of our lives. Our whole life should be lived for the glorification of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 4:25-32
Ephesians 4:25–32 KJV 1900
Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Put away lying instead speak the truth
Be angry with sin, but don’t hold anger against one another
Don’t give place to the devil – don’t give him a place to camp in your hearts
Don’t steal, but work for your keep so your ministry is good
Don’t speak corruptible, but build one another up, minister to one another
Remember the Spirit is within you, don’t grieve him
Don’t hold bitterness, envy, anger, wrath, or divisive, instead hate those things and reject them in yourself
Instead, be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving – for Christ forgave you when you didn’t deserve it.
The good works are then our ordinary works and how we become to act as Christ and live in this new live the we offer to God in Jesus Christ.
It is living for God in every work that God has for us in our new way of living.
