The truth is, our names all have meaning.

Names like Benedict (blessed one) and Judas (God is praised), were meant to be positive, but now are known for people who are traitors.

Even Adolph: (majestic wolf), is now best known for the author of the mass murder of millions of Jews, along with the gypsies, homosexuals, disabled, mentally ill and alcoholics in Adolph Hitler.

But even if we were born with a name we don’t like, or we’re part of a dysfunctional family that we don’t like, a man named Jesus not only gives a new status as part of his family, but he also offers us the chance to change what we have been, to go by the name he calls us instead.
