Genesis 14
Genesis 14
Melchizedek and Christ
19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Christ priesthood is according to the order of Melchizedek.
Melchizedek is introduced to us
Without Geneology whilst Abraham has geneology tracing him back to Adam,
Without Father of Mother, Abraham Father is known
Without Begining of days or End, We know when Abraham was born and when he died. So Melchizedek is never born nor dies.
What is this indicating?
It is fordahdowing, the coming of Christ and his priesthood.
1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
2 to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,”
3 without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.
2. Melchizedek is both King and Priest
In Melchizedek both the office of the priesthood and kingship are united
The priesthood that was given to the son of Abraham Levi, does not inlcude the Kingdship.
The Kingship and presithood are never united. Uzziah the King of Judah was smitten with leprossy when he tried to unite this two offices under him.
Jesus Christ came to be both King and priest.
3 Melchizedek was greater than Abraham
Melchizedek blessed Abraham
Abraham gave him tithe of all.
Hebrews 7:4–10 (NKJV)
4 Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils.
5 And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham;
6 but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.
7 Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better.
8 Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives.
9 Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak,
10 for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.
This is indicative that Christ is greater than Abraham.
Just from Melchizedek we can know that Christ has no physical relation with the decendants of Abraham.
His is from God, he is God. Therefore Jesus is greater than Abraham in every way.
In John 8, When Jesus spoke that whoever keeps my words shall never see death. The people asked him “ Are you greater than our Father Abraham who is dead”, Jesus responded and said “ Before Abraham was I am”
3. Melchizedek gave Abraham Bread and wine
Christ would come to give the descednant of Abraham his flesh and blood, through which they would overcome their enemies, the devil and death.
Genesis 14:18–20 (NKJV)
18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.
19 And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;
20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.
It is through his flesh and blood we overcome the power of death

Verse 1-6
Inordeer to be justfied by faith, or live by faith. We have to believe the word of God in the face of Contradiction. True faith, is faith that stands firm in the face of Contradiction.
When you are Sick you say i am healed.
When you lose, you say i have won.
A lot of people they believe in healing until they gate sick.
A lot of people they believe Jesus is control until they life turn to chaos.
Faith is believeing in the Word of God in the face of Contradiction and acting on that faith.
To Abraham what seemed to be the reality was that one of his servants was going to be his heir. Yet when God spoke to him, in the face of this contradiction, he Chose to beleive the word of God and live according to it.
