WARNINGS from the Word:
I.
The Prophetic Warning.
vs.14-16
14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
“the abomination of desolation” it has nothing to do with Antiochus Epiphanes slaughtering a pig in the Temple during the times of the Maccabees or the Romans under Titus offering sacrifices to Jupiter.
“them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains” is a reference of Israel escaping the Devil (Revelation 12:6).
Briefly, here is what is going on in verse 14.
A Jewish temple, on the temple mount in Jerusalem, will be rebuilt.
Sacrifices by a Jewish priesthood will begin once more.
As of 2016, the Temple Institute in Jerusalem has all the vessels of service and the priests’ garments made and ready to go, and Levites have been identified and are being trained in the priesthood.
The Antichrist will confirm a covenant with the Jews for one prophetic week (seven years)—Daniel 9:27.
After the first three-and-a-half years, he will break that covenant causing the daily sacrifice to cease.
He will enter into the temple, professing to be God in the flesh, and install himself as the object of worship (2 Thess.
2:3–4).
This worship will involve a living image of himself (Rev.
13:15) and human sacrifice, with the flesh and blood being eaten and drunk by his priests in a “Mass” (Rev.
6:9, 20:4; Isa.
6:13; Psa.
14:4, 16:4).
15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
II.
The Parental Warning.
vs.17-18
17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
The only way to escape “those days” is to trust Christ NOW (2 Cor.
6:2).
If you don’t, momma, you will be faced with the choice of your baby starving to death, or you taking the mark so you can buy food and being damned in the process (Rev.
14:9–11).
18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
Running for your life with no provisions will make winter travel very hard.
III.
The Persecution Warning.
v.19
19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
This is the Great Tribulation!
Jeremiah 30:7 (AV)
7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Daniel 12:11 (AV)
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
Note: Now eliminating the OT is one of the reasons why people deceive one about their group replacing the Jew, in fact the first step.
IV.
The Purposeful Warning.
v.20
20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
“the elect”?
God’s corporate election id the people of Israel.
V.
The Presentation Warning.
vs.21-22
21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
They will deceive you through the printed page and the spoken word!
They will fool a “Christian” is if that “Christian” had put down that Book and picked up the material by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (JWs), Review and Herald Publishing Association and the Pacific Press Publishing Association (Seventh-day Adventist), the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons), the Christian Science Publishing Society, the Koran and the Hadith (Islam), or Ascension Press, Ave Maria Press, Our Sunday Visitor, etc. (Catholic).
VI.
The Personal Warning.
v.23
23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
