God created us to rule over the environment we live in.

Jesus left deity in heaven

Adam had given away his authority

jesus earned it back

died and rose - offering authority to us.

We are in a war over our Authority

Satan is angry that you have the authority he used to have.

Eph 6:10-18

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

God has given you weapons to exercise your authority

The Name of Jesus

“He has seizures and is suffering greatly.

He often falls into the fire or into the water.

I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”

“You UNBELIEVING and PERVERSE generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you?

How long shall I put up with you?

Bring the boy here to me.” Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.

THE SOLUTION (15min)

Matthew 8:5-8

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help.

6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.”

Matthew 8:5-8

Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”

The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof.

But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

Centurion would understand authority in an Empire or Kingdom.

Cain of command in a government.

Isaiah 9:6-7

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6-7

Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.

He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.

...for you have magnified Your word above all Your name.
