CIS: God intend the Church to be the loudest champion of the accomplishments of Women.
SO:

Gender Coordination

Genesis 1:26–27 ESV
26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Exp
Humankind is made in the image of God.
There’s something special in the human race that is not present in other portion of God’s creation.
There is not any subdivision of authority/responsibility between the two mentioned in the original creation.
Gender strife, subordination, and childbearing w/labor was a consequence of sin.
Genesis 3:16 ESV
16 To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”
But one day, the woman’s offspring would triumph over the deceiver. v.15
Application
If female subordination is a part of the fall, should the church be supporting subordinating theologies/policies in light of Christ?
NO
LL Cool J - Mama Said Knock You Out
We must insist on deep and original exposition of the text!
We must set up policies/culture to facilitate this truth.

Church Leadership in God’s Image

Acts 2:17–18 ESV
17 “ ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; 18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
Exp:
At Pentecost, God poured out his Spirit on all flesh.
Even before Pentecost several notable women lead the people of God

The Wise Women 2 Sam 14ff
Esther
But the Seed of the Woman had come and power of the curse had broken
Now Coordinate Ministry could occur again and become
Romans 16:7 ESV
7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners. They are well known to the apostles, and they were in Christ before me.
We unfortunately do not know anything about these two.
They however were likely a marriage couple who were both considered Apostles.
App
If the curse of sin is broken, should the church empower all member no matter their gender (or anything else) to serve and lead when qualified?
God intends the church to be loudest champion of women in leadership.
Giving the FSS BS grief about the women.

Addressing Texts Used to Subordinate Women

Galatians 3:28 ESV
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Exp:
The Early Church does not demonstrate an attitude of Chauvinism.
Dorcas (Healed by Peter)
Lydia
Priscilla (w/ Aquillia)
The Four Prophet daughters of Philip Act 21:9
Phoebe (likely the bareer of Romans)
But the history of the church became dominated by Male-eccentric theologies, polity and supported male-centric policies
There are few verses (6 passages) that are taken (incorrectly) to support this view.
1 Corinthians 11:1–16 ESV
1 Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. 2 Now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you. 3 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, 5 but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven. 6 For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. 7 For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man. 8 For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. 9 Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10 That is why a wife ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman; 12 for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God. 13 Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a wife to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him, 15 but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering. 16 If anyone is inclined to be contentious, we have no such practice, nor do the churches of God.
1 Corinthians 14:34–35 ESV
34 the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. 35 If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.
1 Timothy 2:9–15 ESV
9 likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, 10 but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. 11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve; 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. 15 Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.
Ephesians 5:22–31 ESV
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. 25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. 28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of his body. 31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
Colossians 3:18 ESV
18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
1 Timothy 5:14 ESV
14 So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, manage their households, and give the adversary no occasion for slander.
Titus 2:4–5 ESV
4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
Conclusions drawn from these verses that are inconsistent with the rest of the Scriptures are failed interpretations.
Normally the problems of interpretation stem from generalizing a limited solution for a specific location (context) and failing to recognize the context the writer addresses
