In March 2019, JD Greear, former president of the SBC and current pastor of Summit Church in Winston-Salem, NC. released a book called the Gospel Above All.

The book seeks to place the Gospel Above All other issues: Politics, Social standing, Race, and Sexuality.

However, on Jan. 27th, 2019, Pastor Greear preached a message on homosexuality which caused
