INTRODUCTION

IS GOD REALLY IN CONTROL?
If God is real, and He is good, how can there be so much evil in the earth? Did God create evil?
How could a loving God send someone to hell?
Who is responsible for the spiritual condition of the earth.

AUTHORITY VS. POWER

Right now you are seeing unchecked use of power without moral or legal authority. Who is responsible for this? The authorities who are supposed to regulate the use of power.
Everywhere there is lawlessness and anarchy, total rebellion against all absolute morality and common reason.
Two things humanity can’t handle; glory and power. These are the purview of God
Total power corrupts totally.

The only legitimate use of power is enforce authority.

WHO HAS AUTHORITY IN THE EARTH?

God never relinquished His authority, He only delegated specific amounts over specific portions of creation.
Over every living thing, but not over the earth itself.
Genesis 1:28–31 NLT
28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” 29 Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. 30 And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.” And that is what happened. 31 Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.
Hebrews 2:5–12 (NLT)
5 And furthermore, it is not angels who will control the future world we are talking about.
6 For in one place the Scriptures say, “What are mere mortals that you should think about them, or a son of man that you should care for him?
7 Yet for a little while you made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.
8 You gave them authority over all things.” Now when it says “all things,” it means nothing is left out. But we have not yet seen all things put under their authority.
9 What we do see is Jesus, who for a little while was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone.
10 God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation.
11 So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters.
12 For he said to God, “I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.”
Greek 5718 ὑποτάσσομαι (hypotassomai), ὑποτάσσω (hypotassō): vb.; Str 5293; obey, be obedient; bring under control, put in subjection
1 Corinthians 15:27 NLT
27 For the Scriptures say, “God has put all things under his authority.” (Of course, when it says “all things are under his authority,” that does not include God himself, who gave Christ his authority.)
Ephesians 1:22 NLT
22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.
In the garden, humanity not only disobeyed God, they obeyed Satan.
Romans 6:16 NLT
16 Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.
Humanity subjected their delegate authority to Satan.
Matthew 28:18–19 NLT
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
John 20:21 NLT
21 Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
Matthew 16:18 (NLT)
18 Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.
