We are being charged to walk out the words given to us.
Is prophesy a road map in our lives?
Is what Jesus says you are a road map for your life?
Jesus calls Simon who he truly is Peter.
Jesus prophesied who he was.
When you get a prophecy or God speaks to you, we have a charge to hear it and continue to observe what it means.
When Joseph had a dream about all his brothers and even his father bowing to him, he told to his family.
Isreal, Joseph’s dad, had some strong words with his son about his arrogance.
It says that Isreal took that dream and pondered it.
Its like he put it on a shelf to see what would come of that dream.
I have a feeling that when all his sons came back to their father and told them that Joseph was a alive.
I think Isreal pictured all of them bowed to their brother, and he remembered that dream Joseph had.
When you look back at what God has said to you and what has come of those words, what do you see?
Sometimes I look back and I realize if I had just trusted what He said about trusting Him or what He said about me, all that worry I experienced was unnecessary.
My path would have been much straighter if I would have just trusted what He said.
When we get a prophecy or God speaks to you we have a charge to act on that word.
We become His family when we act on the words we hear from Jesus.
God speaks and life happens.
We need to see what Father is speaking over us for what it is.
He is revealing to you who He is.
He is calling out who we are.
His word is living and shaping.
His word will unfold many times in our lives in ways that we did not think about before.
Peter was just called by his new name right before this.
Jesus knew that Peter needed to know who He was in his life.
Peter also needed reminded of why Jesus was there.
When you are given a word or prophecy it is because you need reminded of who Jesus is or you will need to purposely remind yourself of who He is.
When you are given a word or prophecy it is because you need reminded of who you are or you will need to purposely remind yourself of who you are.
We are to take those words and observe them and let them unfold over and over again.
A key to doing this is to hold very loosely how it will happen and when it will happen.
Last we become the family of God when we act on those words given to us.
Closing:
What was the last thing Jesus told you?
Who was He trying to get you to see He is?
Who was He trying to get you to see you are?
How are you going to remind yourself of these things?
What step are you going to take now because of what He told you?
