2 Samuel 13:6-17

Introduction

MATTERS OF THE HEART ..... What do you do when your heart involves you with something that is really not good for you?

  • It's sad, but there are times when you cannot even trust your heart.
    1. times when you have to be sensible and rational, and with your head out of the clouds, see things for the way they really are.
    2. the Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
    3. and there may be a time when your heart is saying yes, but common sense is saying NO!!!!!
    4. if you are not careful your heart will have you head over heels behind somebody who is nothing more than a waste of your time.
  • That's why when it comes to our young people, we have to shield them from situations that will pull on their hearts.
    1. because once a thing gets in their heart, they're connected to it.
    2. and it begans to invade and consume their whole life because they don't know how to balance.
    3. the truth is that many grown people have a hard time dealing with matters of the heart, so why just give our children into the hands of that type of deceit.
    4. which is why I believe that it is erroneous to brag on these young people when they are small, saying " Oh, he's gonna be a heart-breaker!" and start thinking about the heart that is going to be broken.
    5. LOVE REALLY IS FOR MATURED AUDIENCES ONLY!

The Nature of the Predator

What you see here is a predator in action.

  • This is what happens when a predator has eyed his prey.
    1. a predator makes sure that you see what you think is normal, but not what is lurking.
    2. he wants to blend in with the background.
    3. he wants you to see the grass and the trees, but not the monster that's looking back at you.
    4. be careful because predators are good at blending to the point of invisibility.
    5. you don't see a predator because he becomes what you are looking for.
    6. if you need a friend, he's a friend.
    7. if you need a shoulder, he's got two.
    8. if you need money, he'll go borrow it from somebody so he can give it to you.
    9. if you want a thug, he'll be a thug.
    10. if you want a gentleman, he'll be that too.
    11. but don't ignore the fact that a pradator always has intentions for you.
    12. he'll set the stage just right and set you up for him to make his move.
    13. HE MADE HIMSELF SICK.

And Once He Got What He Wanted, HE HATED HER.

Because it wasn't really love, he loved how the lust made him feel.

  • And this is what the devil will do, use you for his own gratification. Then once it's over, he'll hate you.
    1. and he told her to get out.
    2. and told the men to lock the door behind her.

#.when will you get it through your head that everybody smiling at you don't love you.
