Introduction

This is a dangerous time in which to be unaware of the times that we are living in. So evil are these times that Peter admonished us to save ourselves from this untowards generation. In other words, this backwards generation that is so quick to call evil good and good evil. And certainly we are living in that untowards generation today. Still, sadly there are those who are walking blindly through life not understanding the times. For the Lord himself gave us signs that would point towards the day of his coming.

  • Wars and rumors of wars
  • Pestilence
  • Famine
  • Unrest in the homes

And yet with all of these things coming to pass in our own lifetime, how is it that so many are still walking carelessly as if there is no day of reckoning coming.

You Are Sleeping In A Dangerous Time!

Rom 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

  • Looking at the standards that we see now, Paul says that you've got to be able to read the times. And when you see the condition of the church now, he says to wake up out of your sleep. For your salvation is nearer than when you first believed.
    1. To the sinners, Paul says 1 Cor 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1 Thess 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Jer 51:39 In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the LORD.

Eph 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
