Romans: Session 15

All right. Good morning. Everyone. Great to see you all this morning first day of spring and I know couple of your sore because you thought that yesterday was the first day of spring in your outranking doing stuff in the garden. I wasn't doing that. So I wanted to make sure I was fresh for the class, start a dollar. I thank you so much for this new day. You've given us and just the privileged that we see a Life coming forth. You are The Giver of Life and spring is a great representation of. I pray that this morning. As we go through this beautiful wonderful marvelous, chapter 8 of Romans. I just pray that you would give this Clarity understanding. And as we see what this great salvation is all about and truly help us understand. The immenseness of our salvation. Father, I pray that your spirit would be our teacher this morning in Jesus name. Amen. By faith and a guitar. A little map. Here. We are just about the between this week and next week. We're going to hopefully Lord willing wrap up chapter 8th and will help cupboards salvation will covered in Salvation, sanctification that we were talking about sovereignty and I buy Wave review. This was a a big question last week when we talked about the law. So what is the Christians relationship to the law? Throw it out written in our hearts, sure are already. How can that be? It's no problem here and I do this. Okay. So, what is the Christians relationship to the law? First of all, we know that Christians are not condemned by the law, right? Or not condemned by the law, the law told us that we were sinners. And dumb. But but, but of course, we could not respond. I couldn't do anything another word. It told us that we were Sinners, but it wasn't able to justify able to do anything but to tell us that we were Sinners. So, does that mean we just kick it to the curb? Last week? Last week? We realize that we do have a desire to pay the wall.

We need to understand that though. We are not condemned by the law and go. You cannot be justified by sanctify by The Loft. It is nonetheless. It is of god. And we want to do it. We want to obey it. There is a bit of obligation obligation is not wrapped around but we're not going to be saying to find a Justified or make it to Heaven. This concept of antinomianism. It is not biblical. All right. Our relationship in that soup is you can't do anything about our sins. How ever. Once we are justified through Christ. We desire to obey, give it to us, to help sustain life on Earth. Who know and love God who are part of his family and, you know, we want to do that. We wanted as we saw last week. We have problems with that but we want to do that none. All right, of the Christian faith, you know, it's just like, Lee, exuberance, the beauty of the first of all, we have in Christ up to this point. We have seen that, we are all Sinners by Burke & Sinners, by choice, and that those sins were defined, clearly about condemnation and according to God's holy Soul. However, do this is true. So this is the kind of a kind of the there for inverse 8:1 as we focused on the new life, new law that now rules us the new law or condemned us. The law of the spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus. And that freedom is given to those who set their minds on the things of the spirit and not the flesh. No difference between how we can do a person, who is a believer in person who is an unbeliever person, is a Believer has these desires. A person's unbeliever, has these desire. Now, we really drawn to the flash. He never has a desire for anything else. It could be a lost person. but also, if a person, you know, and I met people in my life. Who were Believers, I believe they were and they went for. Of time and follow the flash. These people would most miserable people would ever want to do it. It was like they were walking dead people, you never. I mean you try to converse with them and there was nothing good ever came out about nothing positive. They were just so filled with hatred and hopelessness and all I can stop. And when they turn when they gave her like their sins and they came back, what a what a transformation took place, you know, whether this person is talking that we're talking about here is is an unbeliever or if he is a Believer or she is a believer that has been has decided to follow the flash. I thought that's a good argument for that the people who turned away, who knew the Lord and turned away that he condemned them to the devil is that they would repent and turn back apart of thought in his condemnation on the immoral brother in 1st Corinthians 5:2. Yes, absolutely. Anywhere to remember that. God takes a relationship with us more seriously, and when he says that he has begun a good work will bring it to completion. That's exactly what he needs. We know that we have, the have the ability, and the power to overcome sin because the two of us we have been given the indwelling Holy Spirit. I think that's just a phenomenal thing. These verses tell us how and why we want to live according to Spirit siren us that we cannot conjure this up. And think this would be a good thing to do. No, not at all that. You however, are not in the flesh but in the what and it is. In fact, the spirit of God dwells in you, even back to anyone who does not have the spirit of Christ does not belong to him. So those in the spirit or who have been born again. Alright, have the Holy Spirit. Residing, I love this word, resign idiots. It's the bouquet. So we're talking about the list of items that we know. We have a hope in Christ and in the have the power to overcome sin. How do we, how do we know that? All right, we know that that's what Christ did for us. We know that we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us now and drives us to do. What? Put the def, the Deeds of the body. We don't want to just like we learned in chapter six, right? And then chapter 7 week. We realized that the struggle

Those who buy the spirit put to put to death. The Deeds. We don't do it ourselves. Yes. It is 100% him by which we do this. Yes. Yes. Absolutely. Kind of split it up into to those who are lead the children of God. So how is it that we have the power to overcome and to live righteously, is that we are led by the spirit. And when we are led by the spirit, we're not just escaping condemnation. So many people think that we become saved to do what?

No, I don't want to go to hell, so I got to get saved. There is more involved. If I want you to really get this in your brain. All right. We're we're, we're at alien. Dated.

Condemned in Christ. There is no condemnation. And that's not the end of the story. What did he say to those who are led by the spirit? Not just to escape on the nation and adoption into God's family as sons of God. It says for all who are led by the spirit sons of God. No, I've heard people say that should be sons and daughters.

Is very very carefully read the scripture because when you say Sons and Daughters of God, you lose the importance of the statement because this has nothing to do with gender. It has to do with position. Sons were highly esteemed in that culture as those who would want inherit from the father and pass on the family name Dust. We Understand from scripture that both men and women are what sons of God where we get that from A guy over in Galatians chapter 34, in Christ. You are all sons of God through faith for as many of you as were baptized into Christ. Have put on Christ. So case you're wondering who the all is. Okay. Let's go. Let's talk about it. There is neither Jew, nor Greek ethnicity, doesn't matter. There is neither slave nor free. Social status, doesn't matter. There is neither male, or female, gender doesn't matter for you are all one in Christ. And if you are Christ and you are Abraham's, offsprings heirs, according to promise, So men and women both are what sons of God. That is a that is a position of Honor that is you inherit, you women inherit like we men do, right.

Spirit of God, you know, he's taking up Welling and here he's does house within us, you know, he is bearing witness with us that we are sons of God. Someone tries to tell has tried to tell you. Otherwise the spirit of God is there to say you are, you are a son of God and truly are. And with that first Seventeen, talk about the fact that we are fellow heirs with Jesus. This just blows my mind. Jesus, the Christ, the son of God, the second person of the Trinity, the one with the father with the spirits for all eternity past. He inherits all things. He is, he deserves to hear, don't think. Amazingly enough. We are sons of God. We're not, we're not just put down there in a lowly. We're not put out in the back somewhere. We inherit with your joint heirs with Jesus, all that Jesus owned and inherits. We inherit with him, you can conceive it. And I can't like my friend has to think it's at the Marvel green. Hallelujah, I mean it's just like to wander this. This portion of scripture is called the Rhapsody of Christian. This is a most exciting most enthusiastic piece of literature that brings your hole in the crisp in the in the Bible verse in chapter 8 is kind of like the culmination of everything. He adopts the two sons of Joseph Manasseh and Ephraim and God has taken the Levites as his own, his own priest. And to make off work, he has nailed to find a Jose. So you are no longer a slave, but a son. And if a son, then an error, True. Is nothing better than this. Nothing. Nothing in the world? In the world nails. Insignificant to what we're talking about here. That we are not condemned. We are in Christ. We can fill the law and Christ, The Escape your condemnation, but the most amazing thing of all that we are called sons of God. We have been adopted into your family that we have become joint heirs with Christ and we will be glorified with him. How is this even possible? Father? Oh father, I pray that we would live. In the spirit that we would seek, those things of the spirit that we would mortify, put the death, but these of The Flash as a daily common practice in our lives, by the way. I praise you. I glorify you. I pray this we going to the next service that our hearts would be filled with joy, and we would spill over with our worship and pray this in Jesus name. Amen. Thank you.
