Intro
Intro
Last time we looked at salvation and the end times from the perspective of the heavenly realm, the otherworldly forces
an image of Christianity in the world from start to finish- the role of the Christian
our lives and agency and effect
flying over OKC at night- saw it all from 30,000 ft- changes your perspective about the whole thing
The Lamb
The Lamb
marks on foreheads- where everyone can see them
“I am not ashamed of the gospel”
“firstfruits” to make or begin a sacrifice. Not that all of these things are true in the life of every person who lives, but that all of them gave everything up that they may be blameless despite their selves
following the Lamb everywhere and always, no separation
The Gospel
The Gospel
an eternal claim
an analogy
a reality check
both sides of the gospel message
going back to the original purpose of the letters to the churches- endure until victory
blessed is the one who dies this way- the first death
The Harvest
The Harvest
“ripe” in the Greek- dried, withered, paralyzed, lame- not whole or in a state that is worthless
grapes and harvest are very common metaphors in scripture- common agriculture
the one with authority over the fire
the grapes from the vines
ripe as in “reaching the limit”
their fruit got them destroyed when the time came
Application
Application
its easy to say, “think about what you do”
what is more difficult is to think about the product of what you have done
what has your life produced in the world around you?
