DEE'S OBITUARY

After a lengthy illness, Dee Stanley passed away on Thursday evening, March 10, 2022, surrounded by his family. Born June 14, 1951, at Welch, he was the son of the late Cecil Overton Stanley & Virginia Dunn Stanley. Dee was a graduate of Welch High School, Class of 1969, and went on to receive his marketing degree in 1973 from West Virginia University. Dee worked at the West Virginia Department of Highways for twenty years, serving as the District Right of Way Agent and Appraiser. After retirement, he had his own business as a certified general real estate appraiser for many years. Dee’s first priority in life was his family. He married his high school sweetheart (Candy) in 1974, and was blessed to have two children, of whom he was very proud. When his three grandchildren arrived, they became the apples of his eye. Dee was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Princeton, and a former Deacon. Dee had a witty sense of humor and a great personality. He was an avid Mountaineer fan for all sports (especially when they won) and a skilled golfer. Dee truly cherished his time with his grandchildren, taking them fishing at their family cabin and attending all of their extra-curricular activities. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Candace “Candy” Spangler Stanley; two children, Christopher “Chris” O. & Kelli Stanley, Kellan & Todd Tucker; three grandchildren, Sophie, Wyatt, & Wade; and honorary brother Donald “Don” Dunn.
One year ago today
If Princeton ever really wants to impress someone, they could certainly do worse than having Dee and Candy show them around. We love you guys and are truly grateful to know you all.

Seeing is Believing

Job 19:25–27 ESV
For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!

Does it boggle your mind – that you will one day see God?

Dr. James Dobson once said “When we leave this world, there are really only three things that will matter. Those who loved you, those you loved, and where your soul goes when you die.”
Psalm 16:9–11 ESV
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Dee is truly in a better place today.
Romans 8:18 ESV
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Revelation 21:1–6 ESV
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.
Clearly in this room, there are those who loved Dee,
There are those Dee clearly loved
And we know exactly where his soul will spend eternity.
Until we meet again brother, until we meet again.
