Let me ask you, and be honest, How do you feel when someone tells you to share the gospel?
How about when someone ask’s you to do a Godly work?
Do you feel like you are capable?
You see the truth is that we are equipped to do so but it does require something of us
2 Timothy 3:10–16 NKJV
But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
Now I want you all to look down and take a moment to read these verses in your mind, look up when you are done.
How do you think that scripture plays a role in sharing the gospel, and getting out of your comfort zone?
You see we all have felt uncomfortable in settings that God has placed us in.
We all have had times that someone asked us to do something.
Or times we felt the Holy Ghost leading us to do something.
The Word is everything in these situations
According to Paul here the scripture, being inspiration from God are exactly what we must have to truly understand salvation through Jesus Christ.
Let me ask you, can you explain something that you do not understand?
I have yet to discover how I could describe and explain anything that I don’t know.
The key to being a good christian is to be in the Holy word, it is to be in constant conversation with Jesus Christ.
We have to know for yourself what the word has said.
How could you personally do a better job at knowing the word?
You see, you may can say I have learned a lot, and you may have learned a lot, but the truth of this scripture is that we must continue to learn.
We must be learning each day.
We must be growing in what God has called us to.
A big part of the future ahead for yall is to be put out of your comfort zone and to grow.
Do you think the word of God means a lot to you?
Do your actions show that?
I acknowledge you all lead busy lifes, but you will never find anything more important that this.
The truth is that God has called us to more, and any one of you could be called on to pray at the end of a service or to lead announcements one day or even something.
I have a lot of faith in what God can do through each of you and in your life, but you have to be prepared for that in your prayer life and your Bible readings.
What are you going to do differently the rest of this week to spend time with God?
