SLIDE 1
“He is a Shield for All Those Who Take Refuge in Him”
First of all the Lord wants us to know what we are all in with Him
Can you imagine being parents of world war I and II, the Korean war and Vietnam wars, Iraq and Afghanistan wars
Maybe the days and nights of worrying for their young soldiers of war
Communication much more limited then, hoping and praying for a letter soon
Days and nights of prayers for those they love and only waiting to soon hug them again
God has given believers and followers of Jesus Christ a great advantage in taking refuge in Him
But first lets look even in the last book of the bible something that goes with the territory of serving the Lord. From the first book of Genesis to Revelation this something that never seems to have changed for those who take a stand for the Lord
SLIDE 2
Revelation 1:9 (NASB95)
9 I, John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
Jesus has told us in this world we will have tribulation...... but He also says He has overcome the world!
Romans 5 Paul tells us the tribulations bring about perseverance and build Godly character in us, hope faith and power in the Holy Spirit
Can you just entertain us like others? I really don’t wanna hear how I need be ready as a believer!
One thing we can be assured of is the Lord is ahead of all the mess going on in the world today
God has given us His amazing powerful word and He has everything covered for us. He is ahead of all the situations and has written in a place of refuge for us.
We could quote He is our refuge, we may post that He is our refuge or the verse but do we truly make Him our refuge, do we know how to get there, do we truly find rest and allow Him to be that shield in that refuge?

SLIDE 4 PHOTO “MEDIUM SIZE CEDAR TREES”

SLIDE 5 PHOTO “FULL GROWN CEDAR TREES”
Let’s start our journey more into God’s word to funnel us into a path and bringing us into that revelation of truly experiencing Him being our refuge.
We will not just be reading words but His word will tangibly prove how He is a shield for those who take refuge in Him
As we read Psalm 2 today see if you can tangibly identify this situation and can you feel being pushed to Him as a refuge?

Psalm 2:2–3 NASB95
2 The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers take counsel together Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, 3 “Let us tear their fetters apart And cast away their cords from us!”
The Lord sits in heaven laughs and scoffs at them
