Genesis 6:11-7:5

-What does this show us about God? - God is in command.

-Sin grieves his heart and must be punished.

-Following God leads to life.

Genesis 7:11-24

-It took Noah between 50-80 years to build the ark.

-The waters breaking form the earth reminds me a lot of geysers.

could you imagine 40 days & 40 nights of intense rain?

Genesis 8:1-12

it takes 6 months for the waters to fully dry up! Wow! That’s a LOT of water. You could imagine that this is how many of the biggest lakes of the world have been formed and existed until this day.

God’s covenant with Noah: Genesis 8:20-22

what does this show us about God ? God is in command

We also learn again t, that God is a gracious God. Sin must be punished, but He also shows immense grace.

Thought our world deserves to be destroyed again and again, God doe snot.

The reason we can be thankful for this is because of Jesus’ death and resurrection because through Jesus’ sacrifice, God has put His whole wrath fro our sin on Him

-Noah had to sacrifice animals to appease God’s wrath, which is what we see the Israelites must do as well in the Old Testament.. We now do not have to receive that wrath if we believe that Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9)

1 Peter 3:20–21 NRSV

who in former times did not obey, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water. And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you—not as a removal of dirt from the body, but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

God is in Command. God is Just. God is Merciful.
