What sort of men are we? How do people view us?

· Genesis 49:1-27 – Jacob prophesies over his sons – (without trying to get to theological, just looking at the men and how they were seen to be by their father).

1. Reuben, powerful and yet unstable – will fail

2. Simeon & Levi, instruments of cruelty, cursed with anger – to be divided and scattered

3. Judah, shall be praised, is a lion – will bear the sceptre until Christ comes

4. Zebulun, shall be a sailor, a lover of the sea – shall dwell in the harbor

5. Issachar, shall be a strong working man – a bearer of labor

6. Dan, a judge and a serpent, is he trustworthy? – turned out to be a follower of idols

7. Gad, he shall be defeated and yet shall overcome– perhaps a strong-willed man

8. Asher, looks to be blessed with wealth

9. Naphtali, destine to be a free-spiritedman, yet one with wisdom

10. Joseph, a fruitful bough – seemingly blessed above all the others

11. Benjamin, hard to say with any certainty – perhaps even a werewolf

· My thought here is that if you don’t like how others see you, give them a different person to see. Through living for Christ, you, and your reputation change.
