The helper of the needy

Psalm 113:1–6 The Message
Hallelujah! You who serve God, praise God! Just to speak his name is praise! Just to remember God is a blessing— now and tomorrow and always. From east to west, from dawn to dusk, keep lifting all your praises to God! God is higher than anything and anyone, outshining everything you can see in the skies. Who can compare with God, our God, so majestically enthroned, Surveying his magnificent heavens and earth?
I know I have some sports fans in the worship service today. I need to see where you are at in here today. Type in the chat who your favorite Pro football or basketball team is. Go ahead and put it in the chat for me. While you are doing that I am going to tell you that this MO girl, I mean Show Me State Girl, I mean Missouri girl loves her some KC Chiefs, however I have been a ride or die Cowboys, yes Dem Boys fan since I was a little girl. Rather win, lose or draw I have stood by Dem Boys ever since I knew what football was, and that’s a mighty long time considering the family I grew up in. So, I am hoping when I look over here in the chat I am going to see some Pro football or basketball teams in there so I can give them a shout out! I want to do this because we give praise to our teams, we paint our faces, we have house parties, tailgate parties and all that good stuff and yell so loud when our team wins. But what do we do when our team loses? So we complain about what they should have done better, what the coach did or did not do right. Do we support them in their lowest moments of the game and even a season where we for sure thought they should be in the Super Bowl.
I wanted to set the stage with that image in your mind because when we are in a place of win, lose or draw depending on the situation we will praise, right. We will shout to the high heavens and run or jump around our houses letting the whole block know you are watching and cheering on something good. So let’s think about that in terms of the Lord. Will you give the same praise win, lose or draw to God and still shout, run, jump or sing his praises. Or will you sit in the corner like you just lost your best friend with your head hung low talking about what should have happened and why did it not happen this time. I am here this morning to challenge you in those time of a loss or draw, to Praise Him Anyhow just as if you had the victory. Every loss and every win is a praise unto God. He just wants to know how will you handle the pressures of a loss when it happens. When you are met with life’s waves you still need to have a spirit of praise and feel blessed that you have an opportunity to praise Him in it all.
Praise him anyhow people of God for his name is worthy to be praised. Praise him anyhow even when you do not feel like it, why because he has blessed you with all the you need. You may not have all you want, Lord knows I don’t and yet there is a praise on the inside that I can’t keep to myself. Our God is worth at least a moan or groan when we find ourselves in a place of defeat. Don’t sit and complain about and get up and do something about the situation you are in or see someone else in. You are the one who has to stand on his word and give praise the Savior in and out of season.
The Bible tells us 2 Timothy 4:2
2 Timothy 4:2 NIV
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
That simple means even when you don’t feel God close you praise him. That means in the loss of a loved one, you praise him. That means in the loss of a job, you praise him. Praise ye the Lord, let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Oh, I feel it in my spirit today that someone just needs to let out a shout of triumphant praise up in here because God as been to good to you even in the down times. Oh yes, you need to let out a praise like you were sitting right there in front of that tv watching your favorite team and they are going for the hail Mary to win the game with 10 seconds left on the clock. Well, God says he is going to give you 10 seconds to Praise Him Anyhow!!! You may be hurting or you may be full of joy, and if you have joy today you better praise him like never before so that your storehouse is full when the time of drought comes in your life. You will have a resavour stored up ready to poor out when life does not show you the victory you imagined. Yet you do have the victory because the Word says you are blessed. You are blessed because you bless the name of the Lord. You praise him because you are blessed to see the rising of the sun this morning and we pray the going down in the same. We Praise Him Anyhow because here is no one like the Lord! No pro team or fan will be there when you fall to pick you up quicker than that of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is your ride or die when the waves of life are high on a mountain top or low in the valley of the shadow of death. People of God and those whom he created in his image that do not know this God I am speaking of today, you need to trust me when I tell you to Praise Him Anyhow! There is nothing like seeing the hand of God moving in your life in a time of need. He will be there when no one else is. When you try to call that friend and they don’t answer, that is the time to go into a Praise Him Anyhow moment and see what the Lord will work out for you in those moments. Psalm 113:5-6
Psalm 113:5–6 NRSV
Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high, who looks far down on the heavens and the earth?
He know just what his children need and he will not keep it from you, but you have to learn how to Praise Him in the Anyhow’s of life. Oh, it is going to feel strange at first but it is just like working out a muscle in your body. It is going to feel like all kinds of pains because you are not used to doing it everyday, but when you workout that Praise muscle and fill your mouth with his Words of exultation that praise will come and you will feel the prescense of the Lord surronding you and lifting you up from your low places and even your high places in life. Don’t wait till you are down so far that you have to work that muscle overtime to get it back strong again. But even in that sometimes it takes some overtime to dig deep down and receive the victory you really want in the first place.
The Psalmist tells us that, I will bless the Lord at all times. His praises shall continually be in my mouth. Praise him anyhow! Praise him anyhow! Praise him anyhow!
Come on where ever you are and open up your mouth and praise the Lord. Even in your tiredness open your mouth and praise him. He will begin to lift your spirit up and look down on this earth and give you a blessing because you took the time to praise him in the midst of whatever you had on your mind today. Let go and praise the Almighty, all knowing, all seeing God. Don’t worry about the person next to you in that room or house. Don’t worry about your neighbor next door cause I am a witness that when they hear you praising and praying and giving God the glory. You are a witness to the when they are going through and they know you have been through hell and high waters of life. Come on and worship the Lord! Praise Him Anyhow.
As we continue to praise the Lord right where you are I come this day offering you Christ so that you can strengthen your Praise Him Anyhow muscle and come and join the royal family of the most High God. This is an adoption process that does not take any paperwork. The only thing that is required is your heart and your faith in knowing that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Today I offer you Jesus in the pardoning of your sins. I want you to repeat after me today these words. I Acknowledge that I are a sinner. That I Believe Jesus died for me and rose from the grave. And I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is now my Lord an Savior. And after all that the paper is signed in heaven in the Lambs book of life that you are one of his children adopted into the royal priesthood of the Most High God. Let us pray
