Don’t worry. Where did your mind go? (Read lyrics) All of these are good with a decent message but they lack something! Something is missing. All of the positive in the world does not mean much. When you hear these words, “Don’t worry” think about Jesus.

Consider your Worth (v.25-29)

Birds

Father!
Is Counter Productive
Jesus teaches us the valuable lesson in verse 27. He uses an idiom to communicate an eternal truth. Worrying does not produce the desired results. Worrying does not help your situation. Worrying does not change what you are worrying about. His question is rhetorical because worrying does not extend your height or your days. As we know now, worrying can actually cause your life to lose days. The anxiety we keep can have physical ramifications on our physical bodies. (statistics) Dr.Robert Leahy research “...that 85 percent of what subjects worried about never happened, and with the 15 percent that did happen, 79 percent of subjects discovered either they could handle the difficulty better than expected, or the difficulty taught them a lesson worth learning. This means that 97 percent of what you worry over is not much more than a fearful mind punishing you with exaggerations and misperceptions.”

Increase Your Faith (v.30-32)

This is a good place to remind us who Jesus is talking too. He is speaking to the disciples with the larger congregation. Jesus calls all of them, all of us, “you of little faith.” Because he knows, as we do, that when we worry we are not relying on the promises of God. The small measure of faith is caused by the nature of worrying itself. This word Jesus uses for worry comes from a root that means to be divided. So when we are worry we are dividing our mind between what we know God can do and what we see and experience.
Jesus’ way of evaluating their faith is with their lack of logic, “If God clothes the grass of the field, won’t he clothe you?” In this way Jesus is in essence saying, look around. Look at my creation and see that I take care of the details for the most seemingly insignificant creatures. And If God made you in his image you should immediately understand he can do that for me.

Seek God’s Kingdom & Righteousness (v.33-34)

God’s remedy for worry is to actively seek something greater. Something bigger than yourself. He says first of all you need to prioritize what is most important to you.
Seek first the kingdom.
His Righteousness.
Added (prostithēmi)-The word we get prosthetic from. In the same way when someone loses a leg or arm, and there is a prosthetic body part added, when we are lacking in our essential needs God will add just what we need.
And I’m so glad today I sever a God who knows how to do addition.
