T-Challenge

So what we've been talking about for like the last 3 months right in about 3 months. Remember I said we're not moving to everyone shares his Testament. It's not want to freak you shared your testimony. You remembered and you shared it with this young man that Steve went out. Listen when you guys begin when the church we saying there's an army rising up, but it only happens when we actually rise up.

Like dude, I've been in church is nice. They pray a lot they sing a lot, but that's it. Bring up programs. People to come to the program so they can get programmed.

And I tell you something.

Kingdom of God is about going.

Jesus told his disciple as you go. Preach the kingdom of God is at hand.

And we learned that the kingdom of God wasn't a matter of food what you eat and drink it's a matter of power its righteousness is peace and joy in the Holy Ghost when you are sharing your testimony you are sharing stories from the kingdom. Sounds like a Trilogy, doesn't it?

But there's no golo. There's none of that. There's no Lord of the Rings. It's just stories of the Kingdom. I'm telling you. It's so powerful. When you share because when you share seats go out and people's lives change whether you see it or not.

Are you inspired by people story? I just went past your he was sharing he said. We lost. Where they were all big Ministry and they lost their daughter in a car crash and they had to be on television and they said we understand if you want to cancel and not going there. He said no we're going to go over there do like why because we want to share with people who were going through and they went on there anyway, and they share and many lives wrote in it says thank you. Help me get through my wife. I lost a child too and not only did they receive test but they even got encouragement letters and it helped them get through such a tragic incident. When you share your pardon courage man, you build relationships you change the dynamic of the way a person is sick and thinking this is why Jesus talked so much in stories. And that weird that Jesus taught through stories, but we teach through Doctrine.

You're in heaven right now according to the scripture. The Bible says you're seated with him and Heavenly places the problem that most believe is that were more conscious of Earth and less conscious of heaven, but we're seated with him at so when we share we think we're just sharing from Earth to Earth. But we shared a lot about testing minutes and I remember I told you guys were going to do a challenge because what is the point of going through all this and telling you to share your Testament and there's no challenge as there's no accountability. Hotel say oh no. I don't know because I don't like being challenged and I don't like accountability, right? Do you know what that means? It's called responsibility that means and you can break down responsibility. It means responding to ability.

How are you responding to God's ability?

Are you going to respond to God's ability greater is he that is in me than he that's in the world, but then we don't respond to that greater ability. And we miss manager. And how you know the church does that because the world is headed to wear in a handbasket?

But I got news for you. The Bible is full of basket cases.

Moses was in a basket. Paul was in a basket. So the world's in the basket, it might be in a good place. We just need to direct it to the current of the river.

So we said you're going to share and we're going to learn how to share so I have a clipboard that's going to go around. I want you guys to dare to be bold dare to share and on there. I have a place where you sign for what I'm going to try to share one month with one person. So you guys going to get a little guts month with two different people, right?

Imagine what it look like if you shared twice a week. With every week you would share your story twice a week with two different people. Ellen finally three times a week Now that seems like oh my goodness, I can't do that. Are you out of your mind? But let me ask you this buddy. If you only go to work one time a month. How much money would you have?

But seriously, what is you only could you survive on that? No. No. Kind of depends on how hard I worked at one day. Are you sure 10 times you're done for the month? You can do that. But the reason we understand that if we don't eat, right?

No one comes in to online with God it only way that happens is if someone gets hit through a dream or an angel comes to their bedside.

That happens in the Bible in the Bible. Bugatti actually commissioned us to say go out and share and I realized that we are so scared. So I'm going to give you guys a moment past the clip for around and I'm going to challenge you to write your name down because this is not this isn't just for accountability. I'm going to be praying over this. On Thursday when we get together as a church to pray we're going to be praying over this.

And I am going to ask you so you could you share with nobody nobody knows.

You're not in trouble, but I'm going to encourage you guys to step in it. It's going to be so uncomfortable.

Put until the church gets active. The world's going to be an active, Wisconsin. Going to keep flowing with the Devil. songs about the devil about the devil

When are we going to say? Okay, we're going to do something.

Play we're going to complain about politicians, but who's preaching to them?

Who's sharing stories of conversion with them? We can complain about things like that.

this is how we envision all of a sudden becomes a fun thing for us and we're challenging each other ever watching growth and when it gets more exciting is when you see people who are affected by your story enter into our community here on a Sunday and we start seeing the results of our labor, you know, there's a scripture that's all about that and is found in Galatians 6 It says this make no mistake about it. God will never be mocked for what you plant will always be the very thing you harvest. Goes on the Harvest you reap reveals the seed that was planted. If you plant the corrupt seeds of of self life into this natural realm you can expect to experience a harvest of corruption. If you plant the good seeds of the spirit life, you will reap the beautiful fruits that grow from everlasting life of the spirit.

And don't allow yourself to be worried or disheartened in planting good seeds for the season of reaping the wonderful Harvest you planted is coming. From the King James that says don't grow weary in doing good for juta. You'll reap a harvest. I don't know about you guys. But have you ever been trying to do good and you're done good and you keep doing it. All you keep doing is rotten apples.

It's Sunday. So I had to use PG language. Usually we say I got a bag of fertilizer and it came from the farm. So, you know what it is.

Turn the fan on and then it really starts going down on this road. And you know, it's just unloaded it overturn a big steaming pile and I'm driving also.

Try to do anything. You can to stop the smell. Hold your breath done work.

That farmer knows that unless he does that he won't have a good crop. So what are you doing is he's preparing the soil for good crop for good seed that will produce good crop.

Sometimes the big piles in your life is to produce the Harvest in your life.

I've been there. I know how that feels. You know what? I mean, dude what I'm going through what I'm going through it.

Don't you just talk to me?

Come on. I'm just as human as you are, but we are realizing we're becoming more God conscious than Earth conscious because I'm more conscious. We are the more we'll just act like people. Yes, but you've been born again. You've been bought with a price. You are not human beings you are having beans. And some of us are jelly beans.

But it's okay because you have gotten you and we're going to align to what scripture says we're going to be led by the spirit and that's why we're not going to be good because if you do when God says you're going to get a harvest. How many people believe that? I tried a hundred times in a hundred times. I got the same result and I know with that that if you always do what you always done what you always got but God said don't know where we didn't do any good because you receive results. You're not right. But could you imagine if Goku stop training? baby horrible, right

Okay, we got to go back into so everyone else understands or something Goku Frieza. What in the world? You're absolutely right, but we don't go weary in doing good. This is why I'm going to charge you guys with the challenge because even if people don't want to listen to try the next day.

And I'm telling you something I did changes lives.

It changes people's lives because it's God is in it.

So weak after week I come here. I was ready to share this but never the opportunity just never seemed to write then I finally just decided to accept that it wasn't the right time because my times are in his hands. That's what scripture says. I was going to say this to you too, you know. I rewrote this test a minute for different times trying to cut it shorter cut it shorter cut it shorter. But in my family my father was a storyteller. And I am a storyteller. But often my stories come in pictures. And I accidentally wrote my Testament it notes on photo paper. I'm letting you know so these are snapshots. And I decided to entitle it. the dance

And today chap showed up to pray ahead before everybody comes and he says I'm just been talkin about dancing the whole time and then we sang about I want it I dance for you I dance for you. And then last week when I was listening everybody Sharon or or talk is beginning to share their test a minute. I said the longer I've delayed this the harder it's getting And I said, please Lord fill me with the joy in sharing this. It's kind of been like a homework assignment, you know, and it's just been this heavy thing and it's like if I'm truly going to share this the way the Lord wants to share it to fill me with the joy of sharing it. Feel meat because that's my strength right his Joy. So I named this the dance.

Got appointments.

I never realized my entire life was I got appointment. And meeting you today is no accident. He sent me here to have a guy conversation with you. He wants you to know that he loves you very much and that he has a plan for you and that nothing happens in your life by accident life is hard life happens. But he's right here with you. I can tell you this because it's pretty much what happened with me my whole entire life.

Through the hard things would seem like an accident was actually God showing up.

So even from the day I was born God was right there with me even when I did not see it. You see my parents didn't plan me so they didn't even have a name picked for me when I was born. My mom was in labor over 24 hours. They let them do that back then. So I came into the world black and blue. They call me an accident, but my God is not a god of accidents. And he had a plan for me. so Half a dozen or more times in my life. I've had close brushes with death yet. I'm still here and I wanted to share just a few of those with you.

When I was 10 years old my school bus rolled over a hill on a rainy day and I was the oldest child on the bus. Yet I'm still here. And when I was 12 years old, my mom asked me to walk down to the mailbox to get the mail and I procrastinated like a typical teenager and 10 minutes later when I finally got to the bottom of the driveway. There was no mailbox because a car had plowed into it 10 minutes before so my delay was not an accident and I'm still here.

In my twenties, I got married. I had children. I became a teacher in my thirties. I was in a 50 mile an hour head-on collision car accident 10 minutes from my work. Because I I had this note Sue's alarm too many times. It delayed me 10 minutes. My car look like an accordion. The ambulance guy commented in the ambulance. He said Gee your special. We've never seen anyone survive any accident like this yet. You're still here. In my forties my appendix burst feeling my whole body with infection and they had to wash me out with a hose. But I'm still here.

Finally about 5 years ago everything changed for me. And by the way, I called this the dance because he was there and I was doing a dance but not with him. I was I was dancing but not with him, right? So I'm in my fifties and I'm still so far from God still searching for him. Even though he's been here all along protecting me my whole life waiting for me to find my way. So we 95 degree weather on a hot summer day. I took spoiled medicine and this time my body became so weak. I laid in a bed for 3 to 4 months. Too weak to even get out of my bed and this time a light bulb turned on as I realized. This was not an accident. This time I no longer wanted to procrastinate this time. I was ready to do my business this time. I realized if I'm still here. I'm here for a reason. And so I pray in my bathroom. I had a guy conversation. Lord, let me quit messing around let me find my purpose show me why I'm here, but most important. Let me see you make yourself real to me. And so he did.

My eyes were opened on I begin to see evidence of him everywhere. I went in the colors of the morning sunrise in the red orange sunset in the songs of birds and the smile of a child in the breeze on my face on a warm summer day in my dreams through a note from a friend. He speaks to me a god conversation with someone like you He's saying. I've been waiting so patiently are you ready now to trust the one who made you who knows you inside and out? To make myself a real to you.

When she hit the note that I wanted to take it was I love the fact that you started when you were in it where your parents weren't even expecting. You didn't have a name for you, but God knew you.

Even through all the accidents and things that happened God to finally said I need to quit procrastinating and asking God. What is my purpose reveal yourself? I want to know you if you're real. Batteries are so powerful can tell you A lot of people can identify with that. We can talk to.

You're going to hear me sing.

Not usually up here speaking of usually singing so I'm going to sing My Testimony just kidding. That would be really weird.

All right. I was born and raised in a Christian home. I was six when I accepted Jesus as my savior and I was eight and I was baptized with water. I was always involved in church. If the doors are open, I was there I was in yes, I was in children's ministry on when I was too old to participate. I was either teaching those things or involved some way. I never doubted that God is real. I never doubted that he was good. I read my Bible and I prayed and I wanted to live my life for God. But there was a connection missing like on a personal level. I just didn't feel like I had that real deep connection with Jesus. When I was 18 and my best friend died in a car accident and that was quite obviously the hardest thing that I've ever gone through in my life. And in those days in those weeks following that it would have been really easy for me to just blame God and say why did you do that? Why did you have to take him away? That's not fair. So I had a choice to make where I could blame God and walk away or I could run to God and I chose to run to the father. It was shortly after that that I found my passion for worship. I realized that when I worship God that's when I feel the closest to him.

Soon after that I started I join the worship team at my church and I was actually led by my oldest brother and his wife and they would ask me hate you when I leave the verse on this song. I was like, yeah. Yeah, I want to do that. Yeah, that sounds like fun and I was hey, do you want to leave the songs? I want to do that. I think I would really like to do that and then eventually it was hey, do you think you want to lead a service? That sounds really fun? I'm sorry. I just really fell in love with worshipping the Lord.

There is something that I never felt before when I was worshiping and I really liked it. And that was probably about maybe here and a half or two years. I was doing that. I was only leading about once every five to six weeks.

And is about that time like 2 years later that God kind of told us we were supposed to move on from that church, and it was really hard for me because I was really happy there right around that time. God had given me a vision of leading worship and I was like, okay. Well, I kind of missed it. We're leaving now. I don't know when this is supposed to happen. Maybe that was just something that I made up in my own mind.

So and I went to a handful of different churches and his church events are like well, maybe this is it. This is the church. This is where that vision is going to be fulfilled right here and it never was in this went on for years and eventually I just kind of told myself, you know, you made that one up. That one's not really God.

And we have been in a church for a couple years and eventually I turned everything. Okay. Well, this is like the third or fourth street we've been too and we were like it's time to we need to move on again. We don't feel like this is where God wants anymore. So we came here to this church within the first 2 weeks to happen Mariana come over to our house and we just shared some of our story. I never told him about the vision of leading worship. I shared that I had led some worship and just some different areas that we served and we left it at that. So we've been here probably I'm going to say 4 weeks. And tap came off the Andrew and I before service and he's like, can I talk to you guys after service? And I was like

Do you have to say thank you for that? I'm thinking oh my gosh might have been here long enough to cause any trouble as I don't really know what he wants to talk about. So after service to go into the office and tapped his sister this weird expression on his face and you look me in the eyes and he says, Will you be our worship leader and I was like boom?

Vision of filled. No, actually I said no and I'm just kidding. I went home and I prayed about it cuz I was like Lord, this is really weird. He doesn't know me we've been here for four weeks this probably isn't you either? So in turn I just prayed about it and it was just it was a Tuesday. So he talked to us on Sunday on Tuesday. I told Andrew, you know what let's do this. Cuz if it's not right that's going to close the doors. But if it's right in the doors are going to remain open and the doors remain open as you may have noticed cuz I'm up there.

I ain't never feel more full of joy and fulfilled than when I'm worshipping. And is one of my greatest Joys and privileges to be up here each week worshipping with all of you. And letting God use me to help us you guys into the throne room. There's my testimony and this is where God has brought me today.

Yeah. I like the fact that you put it in there that I was raised in church when I served and taught, but I was missing this connection. That is so powerful when you share from that I was missing a connection with him somewhere. And another thing that stood out hugely was even though you've lost a friend. You never blamed God. that part when you can talk to people. Who have been through different tragedies and Trauma events in her life and think I know how it feels to not understand why but God is good. That is super powerful. You're giving your your your sewing hope when you do that. I just want to encourage that when you share with people share that and even even to the point where you don't know when God's talking stuff into it, you know, where even the vision that was awesome. I mean, I understand that feeling with your you know, God shows you something and you don't see it and you don't see it and you don't see it. And finally you're like I was just that was a two night last night.

And it's God. the powerful Thank you for sharing.

This is what I have never seen this happen among other believers. Imagine what it would do to unbelievers.

I remember when I was teaching you through is his young girl there.

And she lost her mother.

He's a he's a single father raising a daughter.

Stories that you guys have with lift and raise her up. I say There's Hope after this stories like this brings so much. Hope of Grace didn't Parts Grace to them, which is God's ability working and on and threw them making his word a reality and their life and begins to make if God were to become really you think God's word to come real to me and I can get through guys. This is what we have you understand. This is very powerful and once you not to think it's powerful he wants to tell you you been in church don't share but when you do Tomic bombs in the Holy Ghost go off. And there's no way you can stop. There's no what yes.

Did I remember the day?

I remember that day too. So this is this was a cool thing about I became the pastor of Maple View and we were there and I met Andrew and Jillian I went over their house and met them. They came to my store. I was told me my wife went out to that. We we met with them that's following was that Sunday? That Sunday my worship leader told me he is leaving. He's done. He's gone.

You look like a nuke the church was. And I'm sitting here like what am I going to do God and then I was sleep and they told me that you see worship leaders.

and it was so crazy because he stepped out face. And it look like from get it to like you planned it. I didn't plan anything.

God had a plan. It was just like stepping out stepping at like

1 minutes or less All right. All right. So the same similar story grew up in church, right, but even off times you hear it. I've heard it many times I grew up in church. I didn't get it. I didn't get the person. That's the ones not even mine. That's 4 years old and I got it. God is awesome. I saw it at 4 Sunday school. I got it. It's awesome. You're awesome. I get it. I'll do that who aren't tell me. What do I do? How do I do this? I didn't run up the Alders every week every time there's a Salvation message cuz I just I got it. Thank you Lord. So what do you do with it we do with it. So it's been ingrained in me my whole life that it's just real if someone says you're going to pray for someone that's dead to be raised again. I would join them and do it. But I had no idea who Holy Spirit was. Cuz I grew up in the church that you didn't. Yes, you received Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation, but there was no other words that power come from what happens will guess what. Still did happen? Because it still did happen because I still believed it from time. I was for I believed it and I was from a church that was really big on laying on the hands call the Elders call the members of the church come up to the front lay hands on people for healing and we did it and we did it all the time. I did it from time. I was little all the way through know there's a time as a teenager. I think I was at a summer camp of some sort where there was a deeper drawing closer to the Lord. So yeah, that's good. But just continually, you know life goes on your kids were raised them in the church all this and then one day somebody said this Holy Spirit thing. I was at this thing in the old we always joke about them Holy Rollers. Anyone know what? I mean? Anyone, you know, I'm talking about there's that there's some people I know I'm talking about he was at something they're rolling around here. So we go to see this ain't like a this is something real here. There's something real here. So what is this thing? Because you know, you could preach it to me, but I want to see it in scripture to but yet I believe it when I hear it from God because you got a balance them all together. You got to have scripture the fax it but if it doesn't say it exactly but I'm hearing it from God and there's a lot of witnesses giving me the same thing what's going on here. I needed to find out about it. I began to study and I began to seek it. But here's the one part of my story. I could tell so many stories with this is the one I want this thing. So it's 1997. There was a thing going on. It was called Promise Keepers and men's groups. And how many guys went to promise keeper things and all that kind of stuff, right? So on October 4th 1997, they met in Washington DC was called Stand in the Gap. Anyone there anybody go? Okay. So I went and it's estimated well over a million or more men and then we were very early to get there because I'd lived in Washington d.c. Knew my way around it was held near the Capitol building and we could only get to the Washington Monument if you know Washington DC at all, we are way way back there. It was really neat. But what I want to tell you about it, I still hadn't received that thing called baptism in the Holy Spirit and still wanting this thing. I'm wanting this. I'm getting this we're driving down the van in this van. I'm driving. I'm sitting on sitting in the back 15 passenger van and I'm with a whole bunch of what I now know our Holy Spirit-filled men just singing and pray. Drivers not holding on to the wheel and we're just flying down the road. I'm like this is really neat and I feel this I don't know what this is, but this is incredible than that night at the hotel and my friend I said, I can't take it anymore. I need this. And you've been in hotel room, so we leave the room. You don't want to bother and we're sitting in the stairwell of a three-story hotel and we're on the third floor, but you get the picture was sitting in that stairwell. And I said enough can't take it anymore God. I read the scripture. If I ask for a fish you don't give me a snake. If I ask for bread. You don't give me rocks. I asked you give me good things. I can't take it anymore. I want it now what my friend tells me. In slow-motion. I rolled down the steps. To the next set and around the corner all the way to the bottom.

I'm a straight shooter. I don't make this up. It really happened. What changed I don't know nothing really felt different. There was some really neat stuff at stand in the Gap happened. I could tell stories about that. It was wonderful. Great time. I come home. I go to church the next week, but I could feel something different in me. Something reverberating in me. I hadn't died one speaking in tongues. I don't know. I'm just but there was something inside of me reverberating and of the church about this size, not much bigger than maybe a little wider but about this size and lady was going to be having some back surgery. So we come up to the front of the church and we're going to pray for her. Let's lay hands and pray got it been doing this since I was four right that is this a new I'm 28 years old. I've been doing this forever. I go up front and lay my hands on her and I pray just like I always pray.

pillow-talk on my shirt little lady named Lucy arish Lucy is 82 83 years old at the time and then her good friend named Hoda Nasser two. Ladies, but Lucy says Hey Kevin got the tongues.

I said what you got your yelling in tongues while you're praying. You should probably stop.

But what I came to find was there was a lot of people in my church who did and didn't talk about it. And what started the happen there in 1997 fire started the spread throughout that conservative church. I was in and God actually told me that lead to go. I saw actually left that church because there were there were no you can't do this. You can't do this and I made my way over to a little little Country Church. And if you heard me speak a few months ago or just happened.

Walking through glass walls and he shouldn't open for you raising from the dead happened. So, I don't know if there's anything I could say of this one piece of my testimony is this What When God says it it's real and then what starts to happen in your life is I've probably been with from that time. Forward. There's been three distinct times. I've been sitting in the seat of a car with someone that had a gun to their head ready to kill themselves why they call me. I don't know but what I do when I got there I hug them and I told him that's what God got for you. That's what you can do with that thing. It's not about what what you what you can do with it. But what he's going to do constantly in you now as to my advantage ilysm and my sharing of testimonies that we're sharing the straight-up gospel with people I'm pretty weak. That much I don't really seek it out. I'm not it's not it's not my thing, you know shouldn't be? Yep. Thank you for challenging me even more will I do it in the moment? It's time. Yep, why God in you got in you for every one of you it's it's God in you that does it constantly because the moment you start and you know, you're supposed to and you're staying there and you're ready and you start to think you can't do it. You should probably just leave because soon as you think it's you that can't do it. You're doing it wrong one last thing as yesterday. I was with my mom and I started going to church cuz of my mom and my mom pulled out some books labeled 1973 1974. You see my grandfather journaled every day and he would write down what he does and I got to sit yesterday and read September of 1974 through New Year's Eve of 1974 with my mom.

Timing Tuesday nights at that church same church where I was speaking in tongues in the front cuz that's where he took me when I was out and I was for that time. So this time frame fits, right when they on Tuesday nights, they were having a thing called angelism explosion and they would get together and they would have meetings and then they were supposed to go you've heard of it. So then they were supposed to meet people when I read in my grandfather's diary. Well, all we did was talk again.

Visited no one.

Generationally, you can also pass these things of God down. He prayed for me. He saw these things he said, Why are they just sitting here? We got to go visit people but then you flip through the pages cuz after it got in his heart and he wrote it down east. Don't let these guys thoughts just get in your head get them written down to hey, it's this day and age Instagram block them help me. What else do we do with these things out there? He's not putting them up here for you.

Okay, for those of us that don't do that. I don't do that stuff right a minute Journal because here's what changed he wrote that down in October, but then I started flipping to the next Tuesday the next Tuesday and it said we went to visit this family. We went to visit this family because I know him he took that home and he cried cuz that's what he wrote. All we did was talk again. So, I don't know I could talk. I mean there's so many things I taught by those are the ones that God put on my heart to tell you about the day, but that that's that's that's my testimony. But the thing is you can do it to you can do it to everybody everybody everybody. Especially little ones you young guys and girls you young folks all I'm looking around that young folks back there. You can do it too, but it's not about you. It's about you allowing. God to do it through you so
